jb4 fuel economy map

So I am looking to purchase the jb4. I am VERY interested in the fuel economy map and im wondering what progress has been made on this. I cant seem to find anything related to it and it seems to be an in progress map.

What gains to fuel economy do you think Ill see?

How different is the tune over stock?

I was holding out for this but decided to just go ahead and will update it if it does come out.

I'd be guessing maybe 2-3mpg but I think they way it is done can increase emissions unless Terry and team have found another way. On that note an emissions map would be nice for bringing outputs down to pass tests even with DP's, that would be a neat trick

I think the fact is most are after more power/driveability and that'll rightly take priority so us eco-power freaks will have to wait a little longer.

No need for it. Just step on the gas less and upshift earlier.

Just shift ~1.75k rpm and you'll be fine.

I've been running it for the past few days. So far MPG's are up from 19 to 23 with a 50/50 mix of highway and city driving. The car feels and sounds very different. Performance is about equivalent to a 328i.

LOL, is this a serious post? I'd be interested if Cobb did that...they do have valet mode tho, isn't that basically the same thing as a 328i

we'll call it the 329i

It much deeper and pops a bit. I have Dp's so that probably contributes a lot to the extra sound.

I tried it as well, and can concur with the mileage increasing 3-4mpg in city/highway driving, can't say for sure what it increases just on the highway as I didn't pay attention the instant mileage there.

I didn't care for it myself

Would you really give up the power for 3-4 mpg extra? Sounds a bit ridiculous to me....

I agree. Just shift at lower rpms and don't drive aggressively

IIRC he hasn't added lean cruise to it yet so the true fuel economy map he had planned hasn't been released.

Actually it requires an engine shut down at the current time. That's not good when you're cruising down the highway and want to speed up to prevent someone from cutting you off.
