Recently acquired a 2006 BMW 330i, but as I went to unmute the radio, there was no audio whatsoever. There is also no trace of audio from door chimes and such. The aux option is also greyed out in the iDrive menu. Tried looking at the amp and it seemed to be fine, and the fiber optic cable under the steering wheel was lit. Not sure what is wrong, previous owner does not know either. What could be the problem?

assuming you have Logic 7 all the sounds come from the Stereo system.
Too check which system you have run the Vin through Mdecoder.com
option 676 = Hi Fi option 677= Logic 7
There are status LED's on the amp if its a Logic 7 system.
You can get most jumpers off amazon real cheap .
Amp or Most bus modules bad a lot of the time they get wet from sunroof leaks.
