Hmm.. Are you sure it isn't condensation from the AC condenser? There's usually a drain pipe located in the center of the engine bay (depending where the condenser is) that let's water drip out.. But water only drips when you've been runnin the AC and turned your car off... if you haven't been running the AC for the last couple of days, then make sure it's water and not something else like coolant...

make sure it's water (no color, no smell), it's probably AC like the others have said.

if it's AC it's normal. water will condsense under the AC when it is running and it drips off after accumulation. don't worry about it.
you'll notice there will be more water in hot and humid days. or after the car has been running with the AC working hard (like if you left the car out in the sun for a while, then let the AC cool the interior down). so relax, it's normal.

First car I bought was used. Everything looked fine until I noticed that something was leaking from under it. I told the guy selling it (a friend of the family) that it was leaking something. Him and my dad (present at the time) both chuckled and told me it was the AC. It's definitely a strange thing to notice for the first time.

Sorry for bumping a really old thread. I am having the same problem, I am aware of condensation from the A/C but mine has leaked about 9-10oz and its never done this before. I am almost positive its not coolant, because it would smell sweet from the antifreeze. Anyone had a similar problem? Is it possible that there is very little antifreeze in my coolant and it could be a broken hose?

Where does it drips.
I'm having the same issue but it seems to be dripping from the right side of the car not the middle. It's a 2010, 325i, E90 car.
Will appreciate your help. |
