Is there a pipe or sensor to disconnect in the boot?

Hi, I have a 2012, 2ltr petrol engine e90 and thought i heard that there is a sensor or pipe to disconnect in the boot to make it sound different or am i dreaming??

Think that's only if your car has an exhaust valve with a dual exhaust end so 325/330/335 cars?

Not sure yours would.

It's where you remove the vacuum hose to an actuator in the exhaust and plug a golf tee in the end.

The actuator controls a valve which I guess would be for adjusting volume and back pressure. Though I could be wrong on that last part.

You are correct but for six cylinder petrol cars only.

Well, some 6-cyl. My N93 (DI) petrol does not have the butterfly valve in the exhaust. I think it's mainly the turbo'd cars that do...
