Vishnu PWM Meth Trunk Mount --- DIY
Hey fellas, wanted to share my new trunk mount setup to help anyone that may be contemplating this.
First, I started with the 2.5 Gal tank from DevilsOwn: DevilsOwn Tank I also picked up 30' of tubing (I used about 22 feet in total) and a tank-tap. Link for tank tap removed per user reviews of it's quality Nylon Tubing Some other items I used for the install were * Some aluminum stock from home depot (the automotive supercenter) * Some nuts/bolts/washers * Fresh saw blade * Assorted rubber grommets The tank fits perfectly in the drivers side rear of the trunk, so I took out the liners to see what all was underneath. Underneath the car, there are a few screws to take out a small piece of the rear wheel well, which exposes a ton of room to play with which made choosing this location perfect. I drilled a hole and inserted a rubber grommet. Then, I tapped the plastic cover, inserted another grommet and fed the nylon tubing up from the bottom. The tank comes with 2 aluminum brackets, so sticking with the aluminum theme, I needed to make a mount that could be easily installed/removed but one that would be secure enough to hold the tank full of liquid. Here is what I came up with --- simple, not pretty, but functional. Finally, I simply mounted it securely to the trunk floor --- it's very solid. From there, inside the wheel well you will see a white tube, simple run the line with that tubing all the way to the front of the vehicle. You will need to remove the drivers side plastic under-tray. That's it! I hope this may help some of you that are on the fence about doing it.

Very clean. There should be a stock rubber grommet in that area that you can use so you dont need to drill. That is what I used back in the day.

Thanks! Ya, there was on in there, but it wasn't right where I needed it and wanted to keep the tubing as straight as possible.

Nice neat install, but hopefully there is no leak from that DO tap...I read its pretty cheap and prone to leaks so be extra careful and inspect that push fitting because underneath is your amp to the radio and its quite expensive to replace and can fry out easily.

Good luck with your leaky DO fittings.
They are totally useless. ...and they will ignore your emails when you're trying to cancel the purchase. DO SUCKS. Period. |

*** Edit *** I haven't had any issues since install --- the tank and tap are performing just fine.

You can upgrade fittings from all the companies. DO should just stop their basic fittings and supply only the upgraded fittings. The DO metal fittings work 100%. I havn't many great things about the tank tap though.

I had to have my amp replaced THREE times due to a small leak caused by a body shop that didn't know what they were doing. Luckily insurance covered it. This amp is very expensive, be VERY careful in that location
