Hi guys,
have had my Dynavin for a few months now and when I ordered it, I forgot to order the maps on SD card...So I tried to download wingo, navteq etc and copy them onto an sd card and get the navi to work. Well I didn't manage. Now, can someone copy me the maps that you have on my sd card or give me the correct link to where i can find it? Please Help me !! It always says 800 x 600 is not supported or sth... Thx guys |

I saw that thread was labelled with questions for Dynavin. So I have a few and checking to see if you guys can help since the Mercedes forums are worthless on this. I just installed a Dynavin android into my wifes C280. I have tried to download different apps. Some work others say they can not be downloaded to SD card. It came with android version 2.2. Can I put a larger SD card in since I noticed only 2 GB card came with system. Thanks for any help.
Also I do not think the CD player is working. I have tried serveral CDs and DVD's. The unit just acts like it reading then continues to play the radio and there is no change on screen.

Thanks I just found post where you just copy the SD card to file on computer and paste to a larger card.
Now that you mention it I do not think I took that piece out with screws. The C280 is a pain in the ass to take apart aswell Thanks for the advice Jeff. Mercedes Forums suck.

My Dynavin D90 unit failed on me this week. I had business travel and left my car (which is usually parked in my garage at home) in my company's parking lot. The unit worked fine when I left. When I came home, after 4 days, the unit no longer functioned.
The unit powers on, and the backlight behind the screens comes on but I don't get any sound, nor any actual picture. If I spin the volume knob the volume overlay shows just fine. I noticed on warm days when my car was parked with the windows up that even though the dynavin itself hadn't been running/powered but for a few seconds that the exhaust fan would be on and loud. After driving for a few minutes and after the ambient temperature in the car cabin cooled from running the AC the fan would volume would reduce or go off. I'm assuming that the since I didn't drive for 4 days that the unit overheated due to the ambient temperature in a locked car parked outside. There's no other reasonable solution. My car doesn't show any signs of being struck by lighting. :-/ I consider this to be a design failure from Dynavin, the design should be able to tolerate the ambient temperature of a car in the summer. Period. I could understand it if it was hot and the radio had been playing for long periods of time and needed to power off due to overheating but "overheating" when it's already powered off is a bit ridiculous. For the record I'm a degreed Electrical Engineer currently working as a Sr. Electrical Engineer. I don't do car radio design but it's obvious to me that it's just poor design. I hope they corrected this the D95 and/or the D99 I'm posting this as a warning. If on warm days you hear your fan after getting into the car and turning it on, do NOT park your car out in the sun for a long period of time. I'm moving on to a double din unit from a more reliable manufacturer that also won't suffer from the poor software. I think Dynavin nailed the OEM look but pretty much failed everywhere else. |

Yep, I returned my Dynavin after a week of diaster trying to make it work. I went with the Kenwood DNX6990HD and it is light years better than this garage made device. I feel your pain!
My experiences with Kenwood here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...hlight=warning

This is just one of the places. Know the web enough and you will be able to find both the software and the updated maps. Quote:

Steve,
I havent seen any failures that I could attribute to temperature of any kind, internal or external, on a personal note, it gets into the "one teens" here in Fresno which means the inside of my car is REAL HOT and Ive had no heat failures in my cars in the 3 summers I have had dynavins. I would guess its just coincidence. Based on your description of the issue it actually sounds more like the ribbon cable that connects the screen to the main unit might be loose.....in which case it was loose before you parked but being heat cycled in the parking lot might have just been enough..... Since you have a good electrical background and you are out of warranty anyway, I would suggest you check all the ribbon connections, you might just solve your problem. Also what happens when you press the Nav button, since it is a split system it not likely that BOTH sides failed. Last edited by jeffb335; 06-26-2012 at 01:13 PM.. |

The quality of Dynavin is no doubt sub-par. The issue is the logic 7 system. For those with logic 7, you really don't have any choices other than go with Dynavin. Kenwood won't cut it.

Reasons I don't think it's a ribbon connection to the LCD: 1) There's no audio, bluetooth connects and when I hit "play" my iPhone starts playing music. No audio output 2) When I turn the volume up or down, the volume indicator displays perfectly fine. I might be coincidence and as you mentioned in a PM the newer units don't even have a fan. I just noticed that when I get into my car the fan is on if it's hot outside and then goes away, so obviously in the D90 E9x design heat dissipation was an issue, perhaps they've rectified it, but nevertheless I was still stuck with it. I've contacted CarAudioCraze as well as Dynavin directly to inquire about service. Even though I'm moving to a different unit If it doesn't cost too much I'd still like to get this fixed and possibly sell it. SPMD11, I saw your post. I don't want to drop the cash on a navigation unit considering the radio investment that I put into the Dynavin already. I just pulled the trigger on the Pioneer AVHP4400BH. It does everything I want and it has iPod/iPhone map mode which works with MotionGPS on the iPhone. I actually like this because I like entering addresses and such on my phone moreso than on devices like in dash car units because it's simply quicker. The pioneer in this sense simply becomes an external monitor to my iPhone displaying the maps and information. I was also interested in the AVHP8400BH becauses of the LED backlight display. Did you get a reverse camera? If so what did you get and do you like it? Does it hold up in rain? |

Yeah, I agree with your assessment but its been my experience that you cant see when the ribbon cables are loose/off, you need to reseat them..., BUT thats a weird issue, not like anything ive seen before....bluetooth is working, screen is working, but audio and video is dead. Maybe the controller that sends the AV to the appropriate places is screwed up.
which makes me think.....One last hail mary, have you tried reinstalling the firmware? Last edited by jeffb335; 06-26-2012 at 01:56 PM.. |

question about the android version. If I understand correctly, with the android D99 there is a radio/handsfree side and an android side for navigation only. I assume by this that you cannot listen to the radio or use handsfree calling while in navigation mode?
How does this thing work exactly? Also, I am going to be putting something into an E93 and of course I am conserned about the visibility/usability with the top down. Anyone have any advise regarding this aspect? Maybe some inside info on a new model with better screen? Thanks, -J |

double check all your connections, you unplugged your climate controls to do the install so the most obvious place to look is all those connections to make sure you put it all back together right.
