Welcome Ric!
is your friend - there will be load of pictures on here for different wheel styles. Popular wheels for the e9x are MV3's and 189's (both 18''), and 230's and MV2's (both 19'').

Mine is standard SE ride height - look at pics in my garage. Would look nicer a little lower but not really practical or comfy in my opinion.
I looked at that thread with those M5 reps myself when I was hunting for wheel choices - they look great and are very concave. However nobody has been able to trace where they came from?

You can find all the OEM wheels here...
http://felgenkatalog.auto-treff.com/ By selecting E90, you can see all the wheels and see the correct offsets for the different wheel widths - i.e. 7J->9J etc. for all E90 wheels. You can use this to compare to aftermarket wheel widths and offsets. You will notice that some wheels are different between models, even though they look similar. If you look at 5er E60 sizes on the same site - you'll get a feel for offsets that WON'T fit an E90 (they would stick out too far). EDIT - don't forget that M models have different offsets - so M3 wheels are usually a no-go on std models - you'll see this from the offsets for given widths being quite different (esp at the back). |

Which ones?
As offset is measured in mm, some minor variation is OK for the same width. Coupes can be slightly different, and I think E91s have most tolerance of varying offsets (they can just take stock M3 wheels I think). Vorne = Front wheels Hinten = Rear wheels Front and back have different offsets of course. |

Mine are style 230 wheels with 8.5 x 19 front and 9.5 x 19 rear, with standard BMW staggered offset, no spacers - but might put some in eventually. Not sure if I like the idea of using them though really?
I got mine for a good price and love them (will be even better when I swap to non RFT), but was very close to purchasing a set of CSL reps, they look good on the e90.

Arent the 230 wheels 8" and 9" wide. Bmw dont do a standard wheel for the E9x that is 8.5" and 9.5", its Alpina and ACS that do the wider 'option' wheels', or most other aftermarket wheels??

Hi Ric, im in the same position as you but looking for my E92 M-Sport, ive got 18" 193 wheels with run-flats but im changing to 19's with non run-flats after all the comments ive read regarding ride and handling on run-flats...
I thought about 20" to fill the wheel arch but decided against it, looks great but the ride would have been a sacrifice IMO, the picture you posted of the silver car has 'Cruize 134' alloys on in silver, they are on my shopping list and found them on an ebay shops website for £850 with budget tyres, another option for that style would be the dotz mugello for roughly £50 more, both have a staggered fit with 8.5 on the front and a wider dish 9.5 on the rear which looks great. let me know how your search goes because im at the same croos-roads regarding multi-spoke or chunky 5 spokes like the M6 reps. |
