carbon roof wrap ?
I am thinking of getting a carbon Fibre wrap on my roof. I was thinking it will make the sunroof less obvious on titanium paint and also go well with all the Carbon Fibre bits I have already on the car. My Apex EC-7 wheels match the carbon well so it should also go with those....any thoughts ?
I really don't like the way the sunroof looks like a big black hole in the silver roof Dare I ask what you all think ? [IMG][/IMG]

Will look good if its applied very well so the weave all lines up, as its prone to distortion due to the nature of vinyl. I think you will get fed up of cleaning it, especially if its not gloss. Just my opinion

Keep in mind there is no true gloss finish vinyl. It all has a texture so the best you will get is a "semi-gloss". It won't have the depth of real CF with a resin coat. I have my roof wrapped in Hexis CF vinyl which is identical to the 3M 1080 and I like it, but it's not a match to real CF. Not a big deal really, but just thought I would throw that out there. The roof won't really have an issue with distortion in the pattern because it requires very minimal heat/stretching and there are no corners to wrap around.
Maybe if you use 4D vinyl, it would be glossier. The pattern isn't quite as real, but from further than a couple of feet, you can't really tell. |

cheers Guys, I am off to look at the different wraps on Sat AM. I will ask about the 4D version too as I have a roof spoiler the 2 surfaces will be right next to each other, so any difference may show too much......maybe a gloss black roof may be a better alternative if the match isn't good enough for me after all

well I looked at the carbon options and none of them will work for me. as I have a carbon fibre roof spoiler it will sit right next to it and the difference between the two is worlds apart. I am now considering black but not sure if I should go with Gloss to match the shadow-line trim of go Matt or satin to match the grilles and rear diffuser outside face
