Opinions on Simota Racing CF intake

I have been kicking around the idea of getting an Intake on my car and I am stuck between Eurobox, AFE and Simota Racing. I dont want to do the Gruppe M or any other outrageously expensive on since my car is not a show car. I want the sound primarily since HP is really irrelevant on my N52. Also I want one that is cosmetically appealing when I have the hood open doing little tinkering mods or general maintenance. I recently met a distributor for Simota Racing and he will get me the CF610-27 pictured below for $269.00 shipped to my door. Just looking to get some feedback from someone who has previously had one or is doing the same research I am.

none! Take my word for it, we've explored all avenues. If you really wanted sound you can always go with the AFE intake or this simota.. I heard Injen sounds great.

Do the intake silencer delete and charcoal delete. I bet you'll get a sound close you what you want.

I'd love to give you my opinion on it, but I could never actually find one for sale.

I really wish I had cheap access to a dyno otherwise I would. They have some posted on their website but I am skeptical about the claims. say 10hp gain but again I am skeptical any intake makes gains like that without a tune and I dont want to spend 800 on the Afe wet plus tune they offer, but then again maybe i should to get the legitimate gains.

Appreciate it, but I decided to just buy a Eurobox and be done with it.

I have this intake and I love the sound it makes. Here's a video, you can clearly hear the intake when the camera is closer to the front of the car before I move to the muffler.

I'm really happy with my injen. I know it's not what you asked, but they are similar and I'd expect similar results.

Injen may be a bit louder because it's got more open air around it, but the simota may have marginally better gains, and does look better.

Good luck!

I vote Eurobox for ease of maintenance, hard to beat OE parts.

I like the idea of the AFE closed intake. It's really "semi-closed" but more closed than their previous cold-airs. IIRC the Axiom saw some dyno gains with it. From sound clips it gives some sound benefits and I'm thinking it's an easier way to achieve sound then dealing with the expense and possible drone issues with exhausts. Also has some of the ease of maintenance benefit that the eurobox brings. I would think an intake is an easier part out compared to an exhaust.

Don't make the same mistake I did with euro intake. The price does not justify the gains. As far as I could tell, there were no gains with the euro intake at all. I personally felt stupid for buying it. Stock is the only way to go unless you just want sound.

AFE Stage2Si intake is what I run and I love it and it is sealed unlike the open-bay Stage 1 that causes an SES light. I run the oiled filter too and never had a MAF issue.
