Anyone got any idea where to find the interior paint code of the silver/brushed aluminium finish panels in my e90??

couple of panels are in need of a respray and don't really want to do them all if I can help it.

I don't think they are painted

I've the hex alu trims and they are metal. I've a spot on the centre console which has 'shined' up. It's not painted

Bmw do have interior colours but they only refer to the seat/trim colour eg mines beige Dakota, I'm a painter in a bodyshop and from experience it's not easy to colour match very flat non metallic silvers! Your best bet will be to take the car down to your local sign writers/vinyl wrappers and get a vinyl matched I know they do brushed aluminium vinyl. Hope that's some help

cheers Ben. Might go down the route of wrapping the whole lot in that case. Its the centre console more than anything, scratched to buggery and really brings down the interior.

The brushed aluminium trim is not painted but it is lacquered with a clear satin lacquer.

On my E92 the seat belt buckles have damaged this trim on the front doors, so I took them off and rubbed them down with wet and dry paper to remove the lacquer and the marks in the aluminium before respraying them with fresh lacquer. They now look as good as new and match the rest of the trim perfectly

Its not aluminium. Its plastic painted in a flat silver / brushed alu finish.

You'll have to tell me where you buy the brushed aluminium paint from. Is it the same place that sells striped paint for walls instead of hanging wall paper?

+1 the ally trims in mine have all been real metal, either bare or with a laquer.

You can tell by a) how cold they are an b) the noise they make and c) the way they dent / mark.

They do polish up at contact points which looks like paint wear.

OP - do you have some pics? Maybe yours are plastic trims that have been sprayed by a previous owner?

You can't get bushed alloy paint!

I'll see if I can get a pic uploaded. They are definitely plastic. I work with metal, I know what it looks and feels like.

I know you cant get brushed alu paint, but its a dull aluminium colour and thought the term best described what I was looking for.
