Illinois Tint Law *Changing*

Stole this post from the M3 forum and thought it would be good to post here:

"Fellow wrongly-persecuted IL residents,

It seems our Nazi state has finally come to grips with the archaic and ridiculous policy of not allowing a single percentage of tint on the front windows of automobiles.

HB3325 has proposed the following changes;

35% tint all around except on windshield or at most 50% tint on front windows if rears are tinted darker than 35%.

Click here for HB3325: http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/Bill...sion=0#actions

Call your representative and senator. Senator Link, 847.735.8181, and tell them you are in favor of them passing this bill. I did this morning and encourage all of you to do the same.

It's about time this gets changed and I know the guys up North, ie Chicago and surrounding areas have it worse than I do around STL. However, they are getting much worse lately in southern Illinois and I have even been ticketed when I was in Chicago as well.

I strongly encourage any and all who care to make their voice heard. Earlier this month the House passed this bill 117-0. That tells you something when not one single rep was against this change. Now we just have to get it through the Senate. Internet rumors suggest this bill will be passed, but it still won't hurt to voice your opinion on this topic which has given us all so much needless grief."

what the hell difference does it make how much tint is on the back windows?
shit, in California you could paint back windows and install blinds, for all they care, as long as the front is 35%.

my fronts are 22% and rears are 13%. got pulled over couple of times. not a word about the tints... probably because i put the windows down by the time the cop walked down to my car

however, darker tint in the back, does make front tint look darker.

Really? When I was in Cali, the law was no tint on the fronts, just like here.... And they did like to enforce it. And that was in the SD area.

Hmm, nice that it is potentially going to be legal, but I have been rocking tint on the front for the past 6 years with no trouble at all. Typically I tint the back darker than the front and make sure my window is down all the way when the cop walks up to the car.
