Am I more clear?
Ahh, sorry, my bad - I see what you mean now. You want to do the same level of logging as the chip tunes, or the Cobb tune does, but WITHOUT having one of those, eh...

Hmm. Well, it's definitely POSSIBLE, since the Bavarian Technic BT Tool can do it.... but I'm afraid that's where my knowledge runs out. I hope someone can comment on this!

Btw: there are definitely some "generic" OBD-II readers out there, for example, even in Centrafuse (the car PC frontend by Flux Media). Not sure how useful they are to BMWs, though, since from what I understand BMW has its own sub-set of the OBD-II protocol, so there's plenty of things that you'd have to specifically code FOR the BMW.

Anyway, hope someone can comment, that'd be interesting to know

Thanks, you quoted me b4 I can correct myself. I just tried the
wert_04
wert_05
wert_06
and it does not lower the sound, I loose the chirp completely both lock and unlock. So if you want lound, leave it at
wert_04
wert_05

No need for video, sorry I have no video camera and no iphone/smart phone (Still uses the old 5yr motorolla v330). It does not take long to change these values and test yourself.

Hey Be-Wide, just read your blog -- does the eLight module really allow you to do completely custom sequences? Like, can you create "waves" - fade in headlights, then fade them out and fade in tail lights or something?

Exactly ! I had to take this module to have daytime running lights Permanent (Angel eyes) without turning on parking lights.

It also allows the activation of cornering-light.

And since you ask, when locking, unlocking it is possible to program any sequence. I use it for a year now and have never had a problem.

AE only DRL on pre-LCI E90/E91

Sorry to jump in.

Finally I was able to turn on only AE's as DRL on Japan-spec pre-LCI E90/E91 models.

[Control unit: NFRM]

TAGFAHRLICHT_ECE_1
nicht_aktiv > aktiv

VERHALTEN_DRL_TFL
drl_tfl_off > tfl_s

Is there anybody who wants to try these codes on the US/EU-spec models?

Somebody said "TAGFAHRLICHT_ECE_1 = nicht_aktiv" deletes the high-beam DRLs but as far as I've tried, it disables the DRL itself. This value must be "aktiv".

.

@spazticrecords
My 318d is build in 2008, Pre LCI. In germany you cannot watch DVD while in motion.. Also no TV

Found something else:

If you dont want to have climate turned on, when you press the "auto" button on climate controll, Change this

Module: IHK

KLIMA_MIT_AUTO_0
nicht_aktiv
KLIMA_MIT_AUTO_1
nicht_aktiv
KLIMA_MIT_AUTO_10/15
nicht_aktiv
KLIMA_MIT_AUTO_2
nicht_aktiv
Change all4 from aktiv to nicht_aktiv

When you press the Auto Button on climatecontroll, you can turn on Climate just when you want it, not automaticly by the climatecontroll itself.

Nice, you beat me to it. I'll try this on my US spec preLCI E90. I already have DRL enabled in the iDrive, so all I need to code is the VERHALTEN_DRL_TFL.

I just checked a printout of my NRFM trace and my value is as follows:

VERHALTEN_DRL_TFL
drl_h

Does "h" possibly mean high-beam? I wonder how they reference AE?

There is also another VERHALTEN line in my NFRM:

VERHALTEN_DRL_TFL_3R
drl_h

I'll try the non-3R value first!

Stay tuned...

Yes, please post a vid. Also, can you please detail the changes that you made to make this happen, that way we have all the required changes in one post? Add it to the Google spreadsheet too, please!

Instead of pasting a Youtube link, take the video ID (i.e. XXaasdASDasd) and use (U2B) ... (/U2B) and just put the ID in it. Replace with square brackets though.

Works for me too! I have Angel Eyes running as DRLs. I can completely remove my Daeos harness now! WooHoo! That is $60 and 2 hour install down the drain.

Excellent, and even better that you're running Depo lights as I thought you were running retrofitted OE xenons. On the Google spreadsheet, I noticed there are two entries for the AE DRLs, TAGFAHRLICHT_ECE_1 and VERHALTEN_DRL_TFL. Do we know which it is that enabled your functionality?
