xi plans for 2012 everyone post

2012 should be a good year for modifications on the 3 series platform. I'm very curious as to what everyone plans on doing this year- thought it might be cool for everyone to share what their plans are for their cars this year- tell us all what we have to look forward to from you

Just picked up an 08 XI 6MT. Plan to get a baseline run when the track opens and then probably put on a Procede or JB4 and an ETS IC as the year goes by and hopefully make it to the track at least once more. Been without a 2-stage rev limiter for about a year and a half and looking forward to having one again soon. I'm at high elevation and would love to try to squeak out a 13.9 stock and a 12.9 modified.

Should be a busy year, I decided I like the AWD too much to give up on this platform and move to the CTS-V. Also because I hate Audi there isn't really any other luxury AWD sport sedan outside of the 550ix and that car is just too big for me, even if the V8 is awesome.

Installing/tuning this week:
- JB4 map 6 on 15ohm setup
- Dry nitrous kit (small jet)
- BMS wheel spacers
- SLD (not sure if I'll even need it, was cheap so I grabbed it)

This Quarter:
- UR or cp-e DPs (maybe VRSF depending on how quickly they move!)
- Second Meth nozzle
- Larger nitrous jets
- Possible dynojet run, haven't decided yet

This Year:
- Valentine V1 & Laser jammer
- possible FMIC (not sure if I need it running meth?)
- TC upgrade (no viable vendor/shop yet)
- DSS half-shafts
- Level10 trans
- RB turbos
- KW V1 Coilovers
- M3 suspension bits
- VMR VB3 (hyper-black)
- Catback exhaust

Very cool. My 2012 plans include:

Dimisa 3.5" exhaust tips
5mm spacers for front wheels, 15mm spacers for back
H&R coilovers
sway bars
KL Racing FMIC (I wonder too about the benefits vs cost for a FMIC when spraying meth but decided that this one is so cheap and big, why not...)
stoptech rotors and pads
STETT CP + TiaL BOV
and MAYBE Borla Midpipes and Exhaust... loud loud loud

plus some small goodies for the interior from turner motorsports...

and if something fantastic happens this year in my life and income skyrockets...
Vorsteiner trunk, vorsteiner wheels, vented hood, Brembo BBK, M3 side skirts and front aero lip

I'm FBO with meth so engine is done.

Installing AST 4150 with vorschlag camber plates and the M3 strut bar.

Then later on M3 rear sway with bushings.

I'm also gonna go with the Endless ME20 pads which are great for track use and upgrade to stainless steal brake lines and either the motul or endless brake fluid.

I'll post pics when everything arrives.

Your car is going to be nasty! I've got the Endless MX72 coming in. For the price I paid they better be amazing, lol. I'm running the Motul fluid and have yet to have any heat issues. IIRC it is also much cheaper.

Ya those endless are freaken expensive. But heard great things about them. The ME20 are severe street and more track than MX72. Let us know your results.

I'll be interested to see how the pads work for you, I could use some additional stopping power without fading for those 60-130 runs in Mexico

So far I only have a cobb ap. My next mod is going to be suspension (h+r and koni) and bolt on my volk re30 wheels in the spring. Then in the summer add a intake and fmic, still debating if I should do dps because the car is a cpo car and don't want to have to remove the dps if something major came up.

2012 has already been very eventful!

In the last month I've installed:

OEM M-Sport steering wheel w/M trim
OEM M3 Carbon Leather interior trim
OEM M3 Novillo leather center console trim (front & rear)
COBB AccessPort
BMS DCI
BMS CDV
BMS clutch stop
BMS 15mm rear spacers

In the coming months I'll be adding:
AR downpipes
OEM performance exhaust
Stett FMIC
OEM M3 side skirts
And maybe some coilovers...

Then project "I don't know why I keep buying things" will be complete!

I love your name for your project car!

Snap a few pictures of your interior upgrades for me and upload them to the thread here if you would. Sounds nice

AR downpipes for sure (there is a groupbuy for them right now)! Maybe an FMIC. Maybe meth.

Suspension upgrade

I am going to install HR sport springs with Bilstien sport struts on my 2006 330xi! I've had the parts for a little over a month can't wait to get them installed! I already have a m3 sway bar and a front tower bar. This should really improve my handling!

next to coilovers and a tune, the FMIC is the best upgrade for the n54.
