Getting a bit tempted with those c0cksuckers at swift cover....as they are the cheapest...

but having spoken to them...

I told them that I have changed to normal tyres....and want confirmation that this is ok...

heres the email they sent me....always avoiding the question....fuckin donkey fuckers...

Dear xxx,

Thank you for your call,

I can confirm that as long as the tyres are manufactures standard then we can cover this on the policy without change.
Kind Regards

Gemma Brown

I remember reading your post few month ago where you mentioned a 'mod friendly' insurance company. I think you mentioned that you were insured with them. I cannot remember the name of the company.

Do you mind mentioning that company and few others?

Thanks.

I went with Sheila's wheels...

They were the cheapest for me on compare the market.com

but it depends with who you talk...spoke with a typical sales plonker cunt...who tried to sell me legal cover and couldn't find my original cheapest quote....so i hang up....and called again....spoke to a nicer woman....and got the price i wanted...

they've got bad reviews as well though....anyway, ALL these car insurance companies are a bunch of thieving cockheads....

I think all insurance companies get bad reviews from someone. There's always going to be somebody disgruntled.

I have tried to use companies that do well in AutoExpress's insurance company review. It's a bit like a JD Power review of insurance companies.

NFU always come out best, but are expensive.

LV come out pretty well though and have been competitive for my wife and me.

They have UK call centres and have always been efficient when I have had to call them.

Previously I had good service from Zurich Insurance, but in the end renewal premiums were too expensive and I did get a bit fed up of Indian call centres: some were OK but you'd often get someone that it was difficult to understand.

With LV renewal on my wife's insurance this January her premium dropped from £470 to £330. I nearly fainted - that's unheard of isn't it?

Over on M3cutters Elite in rainham essex is highly recomended however I went with the suggestion of Phil on this forum to Wheels in Motion in Chesham. Called up at 830 booked in for 4 turned up and hour early and they still squeezed me in. Got the car to my specs which I requested as well as there knowledge and the car is on rails mate.

Well worth it if you feel your car needs tracking.

Has anybody used BMW insurance?

For years Elephant/admiral etc have been at least half the price of anyone else, but this year my comparison search showed that the renewal was a bit more in line with a lot of others.

I got a ridiculously cheap quote from E sure, but have read / heard a few horrors about them.

I have been insured with Elephant for I think 6 years now, made two claims on a previous car. Long story short, their approved garage made a total mess of the first repair and it had to be sorted properly at my own choice of garage, BUT to the credit of elephant they sorted everything out really well. Second claim there was no question about it going to my preferred garage for repair. On that basis I've renewed each year, but haggled the price based on comparison sites.

BMW insurance coming in a bit more expensive than others, but is the extra money worth it for piece of mind that it will actually be repaired properly?

Or is this all a scam too?

BMW Insurance is basically underwritten by Allianz and so it would still be subject to the insurer's approved repairer (be that non-bmw or not etc).

BMW are just acting as an introducer to make some more £££

Allianz use approved BMW body shops, or at least they did when they fixed my vehicle. They were actually very good and very helpful.

I use BMW insurance and had a clam recently, and they were
Fantastic but they are expensive.
But when I advised someone on a different forum to get decent
Insurance as it can be a false economy getting the cheapest insurance
One member replied "that's rubbish! insurance is insurance"
he said I've got my rights! And I always go for the cheapest insurance
And if I insist my car goes to a BMW body shop, then they have
To send it there and that's that.

All I can tell you is with my recent experience at a BMW body shop
The guys in there said if you stick to the bigger company's
You shouldn't really have a any problem, but they do get problems
With some of the lesser known company's.

There words "you get what you pay for!"
