Will It Pass The Emissions Test??

I posted last night that we had some products in motion and didn't have specifics of the products. I apologize if people think we used the thread to be a teaser. I posted at 12:00am and have pictures up by about 6:30pm same day. The reason is because we have 4 projects we are coming out with at the same time and didn't know what was going to get completed. It looks as if 3 out of 4 projects should be completed by Monday. This thread is about 1 of our projects. We will post again once our next project is completed.

The long awaited Riss Racing 3 inch CATTED downpipes will be available soon. Here are the first shots we took of the installation. The long pipe is getting completed tonight but we wanted to show you what to expect.

1. POWER? Catted downpipes will still create tons of power. Our cats are located near the bottom of the downpipes. The reason for this is to continue to build boost up top with 3 inches of flow and putting the cats in before the sensors so we don't have a CEL.

2. DYNO? Have not dynoed the car with the downpipes yet. Hopefully get the dyno finished this weekend.

3. AVAILABILITY? Around 30-45 days for full production. Will keep you posted on the time frame as we get closer to release.

4. 135i? Yes, it will fit the 135i as well.

We should have the final pictures within a few weeks. Any comments/concerns please pm myself and/or Anthony. Thank you!

Adam,

Looks great!! I got an important question for you. Will this setup pass the emissions test? I have the CP-E Exhaust and it already eliminated the first Cat. How is your downpipes w/ the cats setup compared to the factory OEM downpipe Cats? So far, I'm passing emissions. I don't like to alter that. Any guesses regarding your setup and emissions? Thanks.

v/r,
Chris

Hi Chris,

Thank you very much. We're excited for this product and can't wait for the production. Basically, this setup should pass smog. We won't know for sure until we actually try the smog test, but these cats should pass. We really believe RR catless dp's, stock 2ndary cats will pass smog!

Catted DPs are all done....Drove the car about 50 miles already no issues everything is perfect. Power feels the same car has a little less noise obviously because of the cats still sounds really good though. I will be driving the car all night tonight and over the weekend just for R&D. We have video clips Adam will be putting them up on this thread as soon as he gets back. Thanks!

Awesome, price? I hope you can produce a same day, same dyno, same mod graph with stock, catted RR DP, and catless RR DP to compare... That would be huge.

Thanks! -DP

The new product looks awesome! What will the weight change be of the new Catted versions compared to stock? Heavier or Lighter? Thanks.

The cats are for sure hevier than the catless. I would say they are pretty close to the stock weight. However I will get for sure numbers for you as soon as we have them off the car.

Great idea. Anyone in So. Cal, with our RR catless downpipes let us know. We will pay for your dyno runs as well. I know a great shop, Race Precision that will probably have room for us. We can probably get this done, beginning of next week. PM us for details.

Close to stock weight so no problem there. I assume a few pounds lighter.

Fantastic. We'll get these out asap. Hopefully someone with RR catless in so cal can meet with us early next week. We can get the dyno's finished and start production.
