Towson BMW came through....

Went and got 7 quarts of oil and a filter for my break-in oil change. Got home, drained the oil and found the oil filter to be about three sizes too big. Checked the part number and the oil filter was the wrong one. I called and raised heck, since I was unable to drive the vehicle. They couldnt drop off the proper filter until the next day. So I finally made my way to the dealership.

They got the correct filter plus they gave me an extra oil filter plus 7 free quarts. So I got a full oil change kit for free for my inconvenience. Definitely a satisfied customer.

Glad to hear that there are some reliable service departments out there.

I wouldn't use the word reliable.
If they were reliable they would have used the correct part to begin with, don't you think?

This scares me a bit, since I go to BMW of Towson for service.
So far, I've only had 1 oil change done there last year and just last month I did my own interim 7.5k mile oil change at home and the filter was the correct part.

Now I'll be paranoid and may check the filter in the service bay before I leave for home! Scary.

The incorrect filter would not have fit. The parts guy said he thought I said "05" instead of "09." There is no way they could put the wrong filter on your car since the sizes are so drastically different. Honest mistake on their part.

phew!
Heck, good to know that they made it up to you in the end.

So far I've only been there twice (knock on really hard wood) and the service dept. has been good as well as getting a loaner each time with no need to make an appointment in advance. Just have to show up early.

Towson's sister store in Bel Air (actually Hickory/Forest Hill) has a top notch service dept. Never had an issue.

I've been to both locations. I like BMW of Bel Air better. Very laid-back environment with friendly staffs. No problems so far.

Yup, they've been working on a particularly wierd iDrive problem on our new LCI and have gone the extra mile to get it resolved. Joe and Brian are top notch chaps. Gave us a nice 528 to drive around in

Last week, I completed a pleasant buying experience at BMW of Towson. As for service, it'll be either their Towson or Bel Air site since both are relatively close to my home address. I have heard good words about the Bel Air site so they'll get the first shot.

I've used Towson's service department for the last 5 years. Generally, I've been very pleased with them.
