You gotta be quick on ebay.
I checked a few times today on ebay and nothing popped up.
So about an hour ago i decide to give it one last try before i log off and boom voila.
So i grabbed them right away, because i know you guys are probably checking all the time as well and they would be gone within the hour.
So keep on checking they'll pop up soon enough.
Oh and what's up with your ride Ben?
Have you gotten it back yet? Are they giving you a time frame?

I know you have done alot of experimenting and opted for the Gp Thunder's as Angels but my question is have you tried the Mtec Cosmos Blue as Angels?
And if so how do you compare the Mtec Cosmos Blue to the Gp Thunders as Angels.
Thankx
Yes. They look fine as DRL's, but once the lights turn ON, still not white enough. They do look better than the Super whites though. The super whites look great as the cornering lights and fogs. The stock lights look like crap once you pop any of these in, beleive me! I thought the cosmos blue looked too blue in fog or cornering applications, but are ok for angels. I guess if you can't get the GP thunders they would be the second best. If it were me I would wait. The Ebay guys have been tracking sales I'm sure, and they will be getting a big shipment soon, trust me. They will stock what sells.

And so if you want the brightest with a hint of blue then i would think the Mtec Cosmos Blue or Super Whites would be good for you.
But that's just a suggestion...
+1 The MTECs are very nice--like mine a lot!

I was lucky to find a pair of GP Thunder H8's on ebay, so I ordered them for my angel eye's. I have also ordered MTec Super White H8's for the foglights and H3's for the other turning lights. I will post pics as soon as the job is complete.

Here's throwing a monkey wrench into the mix.... Looking for a high quality bulb and knowing that PIAA is not yet out with their H8, what about Hella Optilux Xenon bulbs?

Heres a couple of Angels in DRL mode
GP Thunder H8's

In the DRL mode they are VERY bright, very visible even in Daylight.

In the pic at night they are so bright it reflects off the cornering light and makes them look "on". It's just the picture.

Not too blue as you can see. I know people are concerned, don't be. They don't look fake at all. Just Super bright White, tiny bit of blue/purple. Awesome IMO.

How's the quality of those GP Thunder bulbs? Those pics look awsome.

These two are with the H3 cornering lights activated.

These are Mtec Super White H3.

So as you can see the Super White Mtec H3 with the GP Thunder H8 match VERY well with the factory Xenons.

I am happy with the results and will stay with this Combo.

One more. This is of the Driver side. Cornering light activated.

Again this is Mtec super white H3 cornering light.

GP Thunder H8 Angel eye bulb.

Hope these help.

They look much better from a distance, trust me! Color looks perfect. But, it's hard to get a photo if you step back away. The brightness washes out the picture.

***Note: The first two pictures gives the truest idea of color, as once the Xenons or cornering lights are on it screws up the color a little due to the high light output******

I think in the DRL mode the Super whites looked fine.

When they went to normal mode IE: Lights on they werent white enough IMO. Read up a few posts. I have tried both, and despite those two photos when they are operating with the lights on, Mtec looked not so white.

Both look better than stock.

whats difference between h8 and h7? when i looked up for the bulb size for my halogen headlamp, i get H7 for low and high and H11-55w for fog.

is that correct, H7 for low and high and H11-55w for fog?

E90 and E92 are two different animals in the lighting department. This thread wont apply...sorry.

Angry Any comment on this?

I recieved this eMail back from Mtec regarding getting the same bulbs you guys bought, for my 335i Sedan. This makes NO sense at all.

"Hi,
Yes, we have both kits for you. The BMW E90 requires special kit instead of regular H7 kit for the headlight. So the price is much higher. If you buy both kits (headlight & fog light), the price will be $670 shipped.
Thank you.
Regards,
Frank"

What the hecK Nearly $700 for some headlight bulbs? The E90 and E92 should have the same stupid lights (I have the active lights.)

And does 55w translate in 6000 brightness? On their website the 6000's cost mnega bucks...

ok i was in my garage yesterday messing around with my car's headlights. i noticed that the DRLs are just as white as the MTEC super white pics on this forum. the stock bulbs look exactly the same as DRLs judging by the pics. they are very bright and a pure white. BUT when the xenons are on, they turn an amber color. what is the reason for this? isn't it the same bulb?
