LOL. Thanks.
I hope that you have a great time. Christchurch is a lovely spot and from memory I think that the there are terrific views over the harbour from Rhodes South.

Why dont you try Wood in Bournemouth as they always charge top dollar and they haven't got anything as nice as your car.

Jus tried them and they're not buying at the moment - thanks for the suggestion.

I've also just gone to DVLA Wimbledon to take the private plate off and have been informed that it can take up to four weeks

Therefore it may be around for a bit longer than I'd planned!

Which, ss, gives me plenty of time to ring around some more dealers - thanks for the heads up - good to know that I'm just going to have to keep on calling around to see if I can get a good price. I guess this is the logical way as ones as new as mine only generally seem to go through the dealers....

Got a 20k offer from Sytner - EEEK! Stuff that. Time to keep on phoning!

RIGHT! Last ditch attempt; it's going to an internet based company at a price tantamount to being done over a barrel, but there you go. If anyone wants it (which zero phone calls would give me an answer) then I'd be willing take take a very low offer.

Have decided on a Merc SL as a replacement; will post separately on this one!

cheers all,

James

Sytner in Sunningdale have been mailing people looking for stock to buy in. I spoke to them about mine but they took 3 days to return my call and then tried to dolly me on a trade-in (gave me a reasonable price for mine but the newer car price was stupidly over). Nothing new on the latter, but the former was a pleasant surprise and may bode well for you.

Could be worth calling them and asking what they'd give you for it, presuming that they won't have filled up now of course (was a week ago). The sales manager's name is Gareth - but if he says he'll get a sales guy to call you back I wouldn't expect anything to happen quickly!

The SL is a much more 5-series experience, less responsive that the e92 but more rounded and a lot more cruise-friendly. Pretty car, too.

Thanks for the nod - actually spoke to Sytner group (the buyer escapes me) but the best he could get to was 20k - apparently they're somewhat flooded with high line coupe's at the moment. To be honest after so many conversations I've come to the view that it's going to be a pig to sell hence now going through an internet based buyer. Ah well!

I think with an SL I'll stand a better chance of keeping my licence which can only be a good thing!

Hi, I've just test drove this car today in a dealers! How strange that I found it whilst doing random E90 bluewater searches on google!

Very tempted by it, was in lovely condition and an excellent price, It's got 7602 miles on it now iirc

Were you the first owner?

Thanks,

David.

PM just sent and very glad a forum member has it why don't they ever come around when you want to sell the car though LOL.

I hope you enjoy it - it's an excellent car and goes very well - much better than you would think for a 325.

And scooba - glad you've got decent new motor - sods law it was too late to sell you mine!

Onwards and upwards hey. Now I've got a Merc SL which has swallowed a couple of k in the last few weeks to get it to my standards, but it just about there now. Bit different to my (former) bluewater motor!

Actually it is a model that BMW choose to call highline spec ! .I think it gave you leather and 19" rims for £750 ,so you orderd you model and asked for highline and instead of paying £1000 for leather and a £1000 for the wheels you get what im saying it is what they BMW called it

Think it was a special limited run before the face-lift model came out (a way of shifting the old stock). It's happened with other models too I think.
