M3 style speaker grills for HK Logic 7 (or Standard)

I've seen it done before on here but just thought I would share my little mod. Basically you take off your door panels and remove the speakers. From there you pop out the speaker grills and remove the mesh (throw away the thin sheath of foam in-between the frame and grill). From there you paint the frame with a silver spray paint (I used chrome aluminum from ace) and the speaker mesh with either satan or matte black. I had a can of krylon matte sitting around so I used that. Lastly, let dry and re-assemble! I still need to do my front doors tomorrow, but I'm happy with how the rears turned out. Now you can see those beautiful silver cones. These look practically identical to those of the M3 (minus the honey comb grills) and cost literally 1/20th the price. (oem grills go for $45-50 a pop, and thats if you can find them).

Update:I finished up the front doors, painted the tweeter grills silver, and added some HK badges.

Looks good. My only concern is the thin sheath of foam. Does it rattle with it missing?

Not at all. It's more of a dust cover. The speaker grills are held into the frame quite tightly.

Looks great! Anyway to get them off without removing the door panel?
