2012 335is N54 Question

I know the 2012 335is has a N54 motor, I was just wondering if I would be able to use the exact same parts for a regular n54 335i.. (downpipes, intake, charge pipe , bov , exhaust, RB Turbos)

I love the n54 motor and it seems the only way to get a new one is to get a 335is, which i do not mind.

Yes -- As long as it's for an N54, you're good to go. Only differences are whether or not the engine is in a 1 or 3 series, just double check when you order

You may run into some issues with certain parts due to the placement of the oil cooler and different radiator in the 335is.

For example, Dinan's intake won't work (without removing the stock 335is oil cooler and adding the Dinan oil cooler) and I'm not sure if the STETT CAI would work either on a 335is.

Installing intercoolers in a 335is also requires more modification as there is less room. There is also indication that certain intercoolers like even the easy fitting ETS 5" need some modifications to properly fit a 335is. In fact, I think I read somewhere that there is a 335is/1M specific ETS FMIC that snaps into the radiator better on those cars.

Downpipes, turbos, E92 specific exhaust should all fit no problem.

Check with BuraQ -- He's got a 2011 335is that's pretty heavily modded (FBO) and he's got the aFe Sealed Intake & Dinan FMIC. He'd prob be the 335is specialist (especially since he goes pretty in-depth with his reviews)

For a 335IS, if you get a Dinan Stage 2 tune is the their oil cooling needed since BMW has upgrade their oil cooling system? Thanks

B/c it's Dinan, yes -- Forces you to buy an extra product to guarantee that the oil temps never get out of control no matter how hard you drive the car.

BUT Dinan tune?

I think you have a missunderstanding here. The cooler located in the driver side duct is not an oil cooler, it is an additonal radiator:

So to "revise" your statement, in order to use the Dinan intake, yes you will have to delete the 335iS secondary radiator and in conjunction to be covered by Dinan's warranty you will have to upgrade also to Dinan LARGER oil cooler.

The Dinan intake comes with a kit to delete the secondary radiator.

My advice for the 335iS owners aiming for Dinan, DO NOT GO THIS ROUTE ! Keep your seconday radiator and go with another type of CAI such as aFe Stage 2 or upcoming Stage 3 sealed intake and then upgrade to Dinan larger oil cooler while maintaining the secondary radiator for optimal cooling.

No, the Dinan oil cool is NOT required for the Dinan stage 2 software. Only their stage 3 software requires upgrading to Dinan's oil cooler and Intercooler in order to be covered by Dinan's warranty
