Will PM the group. I bought a set of ARC8s. I like them better than the EC7s.

No, just got the email this afternoon, and I replied right away, so not sure I am in, but since I was quick to reply and have paid membership at beginning of the year, I should be in.

The guy is quite good, he is giving 2 day course, so I guess the Saturday must be to club execs and instructors, and Sunday 2 groups of students 9am-12 and 1-4 pm, grouped by level.

Go read his biography, quite interesting.

I think last year was the year of track excess. Sanity will prevail this year. But it will be hard. I got to come up with a few money making inventions this season to pay for the fun.

my year of track excess was definitely 2011. i did about 14 track days (8 events if i am not wrong). totaled up the bills and was very much horrified with how much i spent.... i am taking it easier now with less tracking.

average cost of 1 track day for me is about $1k/day when you take into account hotel, gas, track fees, brakes, tires, maintenance, etc.

joel - did you count how many track days total you did last year ??

Chers membres,

Cordialement,

Norm Miller

Club BMW du Quebec

Dear members,

Our open house is now just a few weeks away and we hope you have started your preparations, which should include a thorough technical inspection of your vehicle.

To emphasize the importance of this, the club will be holding a Technical Day on Saturday April 13th. Please join us for a fun, relaxed, and informative technical session where our host, Andrew Grubb of WeTune will walk us through a very thorough pre-season technical inspection on an E46 BMW.

Andrew will demonstrate how the individual checks should be executed and explain the rationale behind them. This will be an interactive session where we encourage you to ask questions about the inspection itself and about opportunities for preventive maintenance or upgrades.

Event schedule:

9:00 to 9:30 Meet & greet with complimentary coffee and donuts.

9:30 to 9:45 Kick-off and introductions

9:45 to 11:15 Technical inspection walkthrough and Q&A

11:15 to 11:30 Break

11:30 to 12:00 Special topic: Brake fluid and brake pads

Event location:

WETUNE

1900 Norman Road, Lachine (QC) H8S 1A9

514-633-1497

I don't think there's a participant limit for this event, so just send Norm an email and show up!

Why not come to the BMW QC LCMT? Could be great to get an instructor who knows Porsche help you unleash this track beast....

I'd be scared to push your car without some help....

I know at least 3 instructors who either drive the GT3 RS, GT3, Porsche turbo, Carrera 4 or race Porsche 944s.

well the next LCMT event with bmw QC is first week of june. i am already doing mosport june 1st and 2nd. i think 4 track days in the span of 10 days is going to be a little much for me. i might sign up to their tremblant event later in the season. will have to see where work takes me.

also have to spread my track days out a little, otherwise i will run out of budget by the end of the season. now when are YOU coming to mosport or the glen!?!?

Ya, too close is not the best. I think they have one in July, but I'll be out of the country so won't make it. The Glen is less likely for me, but I will eventually make it, just that you need to take time off to travel to and fro, so perhaps need 2 days off to do a week end event. Mosport may be more likely!

Last year I did not do Calabogie, so I'll probably do a 1-day event with Viper there.

I am considering doing ASE this year, but it is the next day following LCMT Viper....I'll decide later
