HID's turn off when weather is cold outside?
Every morning after I get off work and the car has been sitting in the parking lot all night and temperature is around 40degrees when I turn my headlights on the both come on, but after about a minute or so, my driver side cuts off. After I get home after driving for awhile I turn the car off and then back on it works fine. This only happens when I park the car outside over night and temperature gets cold. Never any other time so I know it has something to do with the cold. What would cause the ballast or bulb to do that? Thanks in advance. Btw I have aftermarket HID KIT, not OEM.

Hes probably on to something though, I never have problems with my OEM's. Sounds to me like there is some sort of an issue with the "starter" portion of the ballast. I'm not expert but I know it can be an issue with many types of bulbs besides halogen.

There's many of us who don't have OEM HIDS on our cars so we have to go with aftermarket. By stating " your problem is that our lights aren't OEM " is just being a smartass. I am sure everyone has some sort of aftermarket item on their cars.

Unless you want to buy me an OEM conversion STFU. I think everyone knows OEM is better but not everyone has or wants to spend the money on a conversion.

Is your car coded for them?
I'm running a DDM 35W kit and I used to have that problem before I got the car coded. I still have the "red car on lift" light but all my bulb checks are off and my vehicle order reads the same as someone who has the OEM xenon's (non-adaptive). |
