Missed this part.

No. WinKFP is a no-frills kind of app to flash firmware. It doesn't care much what you do; it assumes you know what you're doing. It's easy to screw things up (ask me how I know).

Progman is a whole OS (runs under WindowsXP Embedded) that is more idiot-proof. It calculates a "Measures Plan" for you, then executes it. It is slow, and picky when it comes to things not quite the way they should be.

Do you mind sending me another file with the .TRC extension or tell me what I need to open it with to read it. Some how I cannot read your file after extracting. Once I can read your file, I can begin to compare and try it and hopefully does not brick my car and allow me to load my backup file if something does not work properly. Thanks.

This is what I see when opened your file in Notepad.

Anybody else have idea on folding mirrors with fob, for a 08. I tried the command SPIEGEL_KOMFORT_EINKLAPP set to activ but no luck.

I have updated the spreadsheet with Legal disclaimer disabled on a 08 CCC system.

Also under Fog lights as highs I cannot find group LMA

My computer must be acting up. I opened it with Notepad the first time and this is what I see. Let me download again and extract it again and see if it helps.

This could by w/ my 06 330i but after making the change in NCS, I have to disconect the ODB cable, remove the key and start the car and sometime it still does not seems to work until like after 30 minutes of the car sitting idle.

That is a ZIPped file, based on the header. Rename it to xxxxxxxx.zip and unzip it - it should work fine.

+1. I _have_ seen it that coding does not take effect immediately. Weird, but true.

Has anyone done the Rain Close - REGENSCLIESSENTILT. I think I remember reading back you need to then re-code it with INPA? Can anyone confirm or help me with this.

I have done it. You do not need INPA - INPA is for checking codes and clearing codes, has nothing to do with feature coding.

Be aware that if your sunroof closes because of rain, you will not be able to open it until you turn off the ignition. I guess German engineers thought if the user is dumb enough to need it to auto-close, he shouldn't be allowed to operate it thereafter

Bingo, the original downloaded file is of type WinRAR ZIP archive. I unzipped it and it has a file of type "FILE". I had no clue it was another zipped file. I learned something new everyday.

but a bit embarrased as I should have caught this.

Haha there is no way you could have known that that is a zipped header - so no need for embarassment

I have noticed that. Some things take time to work. My digital mph took some time to come up. I will check after lunch and see if it works.

Could well be that the car has to 'go to sleep' (usually takes about 20min) - and then 'wake up' again to realize the changes made during coding?

Just check and no luck. I unlocked the car, opened the door, and then held down the lock button and it only locked. Mirrors did not turn in.

I have always wondered the reasoning behind it, thanks for clearing that up!

Thanks to txusa03 I found out how to do it. I will update the google excel when I get home since I cannot access it from work

Under CAS - KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_FB set to aktiv. I also kept SPIEGEL_KOMFORT_EINKLAPP set as activ.

EDIT: Well KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_FB not only folds mirrors but also opens my windows and sunroof with the FOB. I never found out till my boss starting playing around with it and opened everything up.

I tried looking for all lights as high in NFRM and found this

PWM_FL_BEI_BIXENON
wert_02
wert_03

I tried changing wert_02 to 01 and that didn't work. I couldn't find the one that was in the excel file.

I finally got mine programmed. I hit code car and everything seemed to work...Don't know what exactly I did but it worked. Didn't see this in any of the DIY but I tried "Code Car" option and it worked. Activated my sat radio, IPOD MOST, and speed on dash. Will work with more stuff tomorrow when I have time. Wife was pressuring me to come in and eat.....

thanks again xxxjecxxx

Be very careful coding the entire car. I have only been selectively updating modules. Sometimes the lighting changes dont work if you choose CAS - you have to use FRM or NFRM depending on your year to code the footwell module properly. I tried coding it using CAS and it didn't take on a customers 335i. Then tried it on the other two options and it worked.

I believe recoding the whole car is only necesary when the VO is changed?

Still doing homework on all of this, but becomming more and more proficient.

Yeah I was worried at first. But that is what I was changing. I had to add the sat radio and cd changer option to the VO. Everything else worked (speed on dash) via the CAS update. Just never saw any reference to code car........
