Crying over spilt milk - quite literally!
Did the Tesco run on Sunday like a good Smaritan, and for my deeds, came home and noticed milk on the floor of the boot - investigated further and one of the lids was loose, hence the spillage.
So, gave the carpet a quick wipe, left the boot open for 20 mins, got in the car yesterday and it stinks Any advice to get rid of (or neutralise) the odour...apart from a good hoover and use of fairy liquid (as suggested by the other half)???? |

Try and get the carpet out and rinse it as much as you can without damaging it. The milk will have probably gone through it so clean underneath too. In terms of odour neutralisers Neutrodol is very good. Spray that on the carpet when you've washed it.

I've not tried it myself, but baking soda sprinkled on the area and left for a while before hoovering up, is supposed to work? Assuming a hand held carpet shampooer isn't an option.

Speak to Tesco and get some compo!! I know someone else where a put of curry sauce (or similar) leaked on to the car seats and they got it sorted out one way or another - I forget the details.

Always, ALWAYS check the lids before you leave.
I may look like a plonker pulling the milk out of the crate and turning it upside down checking but I just wouldn't want that happening to me.
