Y Lead

Guys

Sorry if this have been asked before - had a quick search.

I have ordered a 320ed with pro sat nav and USB/audio interface. Do I need to buy the infamous Y-lead or does the original Ipod USB cable do the trick? I wanted to get my Ipod touch charged and artwork displayed.

If you have ordered brand new I think (and certainly this is the case for a 1 Series) you can just use the Apple supplied cable. 2010 and earlier models require the Y cable.

I would just wait and try it if you are in doubt. The dealer can get you a Y cable in 24 hours if they don't have one in stock so probably best worth just waiting.

Thanks for the quick reply. Yeah it's a new one, its just come into 'stock' today. But can't get my hands on it until the lease on my existing ST is up in June.

Sorry to hi jack but I wondered if someone knows if the Y lead fits and iPhone 4 with the Apple bumper fitted? Thanks.

Got my car in Spetember 2010 and the iPOD lead just plugs into the USB port. No need for a Y lead.
