Yeah, detailing is a good shout. I have a friend that's a detailer. no idea how much he makes but he's not short of work. He's currently booked up until February.
How about being a driving instructor?

Im not going to lie
Iv thought a few times about either a "scratch / dent repair" or a "detail" type of business. It would be even better if you could get a contract with one of the dealerships as well ... That way you get a steady flow of cars coming in along side other private customers |

This is the oddest thread I have seen on this forum. Mate you can't just go into any field which people tell you will make money or else why hasn't everybody done it? You need a skill, a new idea, a better way of doing things etc as well as hard work and luck. Without these I am happy to give you a huge long list of jobs / careers that you could pursue but if someone wants to make money but doesn't have any ideas of how to do it then their chances of success are slim to nil.
Own up this thread was really a wind up wasn't it? |

If what you are doing is helping you save money, do more of that to get more money.

I was always told when growing up you need a skill other people want/need to get a good job. Everyone now seems to be obsessed with making money but not wanting to do any work?? You could always buy 1000's of lottery tickets and hope for the best

Re those who said nurseries... dont be fooled - there isnt a huge amount of cash in it!
Few years ago was involved in the sale of one of the nursery chains - and was hard to find a buyer as there wasnt much profit in it. The staff/kids ratio when they are small is 2 to 1, then gets slightly better from there - tho when they hit 3/4 yrs old there is money as less staff needed. Food etc and all other costs are massive .. stay away! On the other hand - old folks homes... gold mine - and people always gonna be getting old. My father in law has one in richmond and has done really well out of it. Key tho is not to scrimp and penny pinch. His theory is that if his family wont eat the food, why should his residents - hence all his food shopping is from Tesco rather then cash and carry own brand stuff.

I'd try selling car parts on forums.
Get paid by 'gift' on Paypal and you can sell the parts multiple times. What can go wrong

Finally thank you guys some great input
No it's not a wind up or anything mate just wanted to get a few opinions that's all Iv genuinely been scratching my head and like someone mention few posts above I'm thinking of going down the " tried and tested " method ... Mimic a successful business but probably see how I could provide a better service than them Only thing that large businesses have is they Benifit greatly from economies of scale and have a large portfolio of good products So then chaps what businesses out there do you think are doing well? I'm thinking MOT stations as there is constant demand and as long as we have cars there always will be potential customers ? |

Near my train station there is a guy with a mobile coffee van .. does realy well with a full on coffee machine in there.
Mark-up on coffee is about 90% (used to work for starbucks) and as your portable can find events etc and park up nearby and flog coffee & bottled water - both products with massive markets, and bloody low costs. http://www.coffeelatino.co.uk/ He has this: http://www.coffeelatino.co.uk/packag...ansit-connect/

Sorry, threads like this don't really work. You need to look at what YOU CAN DO and then see if you can build a business around it.

I always thought a Seasonal Shop was a gold mine. But, make it more classy than a shitty banner over the shop door that you replace, get half decent signage you can exchange. Ice-Cream in Summer. Fireworks in November, Umbrella's in January, bikes in Spring, you get the idea...
