Hey guys

I thought I would post on both the 1addicts forums and e90post as I have searched up what the issue could be but thought I might get a definite answer with a new post as the last one I read did not really clarify anything.

Just installed my dp's over the weekend, car sounds amazing now paired with my eisenmann exhaust, pulls real hard and the response on the throttle is amazing.

I am having just a slight issue and don't know if it will be a problem in the long run as its not that annoying and can sorta live with it....I guess lol

My car is vibrating when I come to a complete stop, so when I'm in park or idling at the lights.
I've read that it may be due to the install which me and a friend did it ourselves while having the car on a hoist (by far the most hardest install I have ever done, took us 5 hours at least Id say and have never done it before).
It could be to do with the heatshield not on correctly or the pipes may not be secured correctly with the vclamp?

Anyone experienced this before?

The pipes are touching each other or the car. Loosen the connections and rotate the pipes until they have clearance all around.

This is going to be a pain haha but I will give it a go, took us long enough to get the rear downpipe v band clamp on

use a cable tie to pull the vband together ;]

use it to pull it together so you can thread the nut through. then remove

that's a good idea!, I actually had myself holding the downpipe while my mate was trying to thread the nut and it took us a couple of attempts before we got it on haha

The rear dp will be touching the engine mount.

You will have to remove front dp then loosen front dp and exhaust bolts. Then wedge it off the mount then tighten the dp and exhaust bolts to make sure it's clear off the engine mount.
Install your front dp with some sort of wedge between the two dp while tightening the v band and exhaust bolts.

For getting the v bands on easy put them on the turbos first push the dp flush and flat. The squash the v bands together with your fingers and the v band will hold your dp in place and be close enough to put the bolt in without holding the dp.

Don't remove anything, just loosen all the connections and rotate the pipes until they clear everything.

My VRSF pipes were rubbing against the heat shield. It was vibrating so bad that if I had my phone on the passenger seat it would vibrate off! Luckily, it was able to be coerced and now I couldn't be happier!

Thanks everyone, I will try and loosen everything else first and start rotating, if that fails then I will follow what you said Brule

This will probably work but it's pretty hard to get the rear dp off the mount.

Most important thing is to rev your car to about 4krpm and do a skid after performing any work to the car.
