Using methanol with 91 octane as an alternative to higher octane gas ?
Well...
At first I hated the "meth" threads, they held no interest to me. But as the gas is getting more expensive day by day, I am somewhat inclined to use 91 octane instead of 93 or 94. I was wondering what would it happen if I would add a methanol kit to my car ? Would the power improve on 91 at least to the levels of 94 ? This is all I am hoping for PS: I have the BMW Performance Power Kit installed.

running meth on a boosted car imho is as good as race gas. It not only suppresses knock, but also cools the charge and can reduce exhaust gas temps. It's really a life saver for boosted cars.
Yes, you can use a progressive kit, and add very low levels of alky when under boost and have better results than running 94... |
