Question HELP [Adding Headlight Washers to Car Modules]

I am doing the Xenon Retrofit FINALLY and have decided to do add the Headlight Cleaning system as in Portugal were are obliged by law to have it

Anyway, my doubt is the following:

I know that I have to code the car with the $502 (my car does not have it listed) to tell it that there is a headlight cleaning system but,

- Do I add the $502 to the CAS module only and alter the "Headlight Cleaning" line in JBBF from nichtaktiv to aktiv, or

- Do I add the $502 to the CAS and JBBF module and then alter the "Headlight Cleaning" line in JBBF from nichtaktiv to aktiv

I already know that for the Xenon Retrofit I have to code CAS and FRM with $522 for the xenon headlight to work.

Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks

You need to do it just like all other retrofits.
In expert mode, add $502 to your VO, then FA_WRITE to CAS & NFRM.
Then code each of your modules (still in expert mode) with the SG_CODRIEN job. (CAS, KOMBI, NFRM, JBBF, FZD etc)

Do it correctly so the next reply isn't how to fix it

Hi Grant, thanks for the input so to see if i understood you:

1) I add the VO $502 and FA Wrtie to CAS and NFRM should this not be FRM in my case as the car has FRM1 - build date 02/2007)?

2) VO $502 and FA WRITE to JBBF will not be availabe from the modules correct, thats why you say to write to CAS and NFRM

2) Then SG-CODREIN ALL modules as if to revert to stock? Really ALL modules, or only the ones I previosly changed with coding?

3) Re-do the codings I had with the PSW... profile as usual?

Am I correct or messing up

Thanks again

Yes, FRM for you.

Correct, the CAS and NFRM and the two that store the VO for coding

Do them all. Unless you have an activity report that shows you each module affected by the VO, you will not know if the VO will change one or two lines in an obscure module.

3) Re-do the codings I had with the PSW... profile as usual?
Correct.

Am I correct or messing up

Thanks again

Hi Grant,

First of all thanks!

One last question:

I have seen some people saying that you first reset the modules to stock and then add the VO.
However you say the opposite, is there any specific reason or does it not matter in which order you do it?

Thanks for the help.

When you sg_codrien in expert mode it is doing just that.
Adding to the VO just turns it do default for those options.
