2007 335i Sedan CPO Pricing?

Hello everyone, this is my first post on here. But if all works out, it definitely won't be the last.

Its that time in my life where we are expecting to expect a new addition to my family, which is great news, except for my car situation. I currently own an E46 M3 coupe which IMHO, is one of the greatest cars of all time. That being said, the reality of lugging a car seat, stroller, etc. in a coupe is setting in. Since it wouldn't make much sense to pay out the ass for an E90 M, I have decided on a 335i.

Backstory aside, here is my current dilemma:

2007 335i Sedan
Certified Pre-Owned
25k miles
manual trans
sport package
heated front seats
and brushed aluminum trim

The asking price is 32,995. I won't pay that obviously, but what offer is a good starting point for this car? There seems to be a glut of automatics, but few manuals in my area.

Feedback is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Two weeks ago I test drove a 2007 335i Sedan at BMW of Watertown (Connecticut) with 6-speed manual, ZSP-Sport Package, ZPP-Premium Package, ZCP-Cold Weather Package, and black leather interior with brushed aluminum trim. The car was Montego Blue Metallic with about 28,000 miles and came with a CPO warranty. The dealer was asking $30,995 but came down to $29,900 (30% off the original invoice of the car). Not a bad deal, but I’m really not too sure that I like the idea of turbocharged I-6 engines in BMW 3-Series vehicles. I passed on it and am currently looking for a similarly-optioned 2007 328i Sedan, or 2006 330i Sedan.

... Since you also own an E46 M3, here are my thoughts on the 335i. Despite what I heard about the turbocharged E90 335i, it isn’t anywhere near the same league as the E46 M3. The 335i is inferior in almost every aspect; power delivery, chassis dynamics, handling (probably due to the run-flat tires), etc. Anyone who favorably compares the E9x 335i to the E46 M3 has probably never driven an E46 M3.

Hey.

I think the 335 sedan is an excellent choice between luxury/sport.

I've owned the e46 m3, it was a SMG 'vert. I loved that car and it felt pure and alive. The difference is that the 335 feels more 'grown up' if you will.

I bought the 335i sedan last month as a CPO with 34k miles and I LOVE THE CAR.

I've driven many fast cars including the v10 m5, porsches, etcs. I also ride motorbikes. My last car I just got rid of as a daily driver was a Full-Race turbo RSX-S making around 330wheel hp.

I absolutely fell in love with the 335!! Needless to say, you would need the car to have the options you want, that way you will be happy with your purchase.

The second week after buying the car, I purchase a JB3, which is a Plug and play chip. That really was what sealed the deal for my car (335).

The 335i is a totally different car compared with the e46 m3 but definitely a good alternative.

I paid $29,900 for 2007 335i sedan; Alpine White with terra interior, Logic 7 sound, premium package, cold weather package, navigation, adaptive xenon.

At the end of the day, I paid 35,xxx out the door with the maintenance package till 100k and tax.

Not too bad IMO.

I hope this helps

I'm in a similar situation with a new (to me) 2007 335i CPO. Do you have any concerns that the JB3 will affect your warranty coverage? I passed on the extended maintenance contract and am now having second thoughts, what made you go for it?

For JB3, I ordered the BT scanner with it. I've scanned for codes before I head in for dealer. I just take the JB3 out of the car before going into dealer, it takes about 15 mins. I've brought in my car already 3 times for warranty work and one of them involving scanning of codes(by dealer) for Vanos issues. Replaced no issues.

I got the extended maintenance because I drive high mileage annually and didn't want to get bothered with brake jobs, etc. I've worked on my personal past cars and everyone elses, I don't want to get my hands dirty anymore.
-I will however be doing my own oil changes every 7,500miles and get the free ones at 15k miles.

Weather or not the maintenance program is worth it, to each their own but I like the piece of mind!

I just picked up a low mile, late inservice date 2008 for $33,650 over a CPO 2007, and still have 3 years of warranty. I was originally looking for CPO 2007 because of the low APR, so this might only be an option if you have funds to purchase outright, or a large downpayment. My biggest issue was finding a sedan with cold-weather package (need the fold down rear seats)

Alpine white/Terra/6-spd, 8,500 miles. Loaded minus power sunshade.

For CPO 2007 6-speed with 25k+ miles, I think $30k is the number. Private party should be $27-28k from what I found when resarching coast to coast.

I drove the 335i 170 miles from the dealer in Philadelphia, PA to my home in Connecticut on Saturday, and I have to admit that it’s almost as fun to drive as my E46 M3 (both cars are 6-speed manuals). We had a pretty big snow storm all weekend so I haven’t driven it since. I’m waiting for my winter wheel/tire package to arrive from Tire Rack (scheduled delivery is Wednesday). After then the 335i will be my daily driver. The M3 is still my 3-season weekend car.

Glad to hear! I know exactly what you mean about being almost as fun to drive as the E46 M3.

I had a blast driving the E46 M3 and my essentially "track" turbo rsx but compared with the refinement of the 335i, I LOVE IT.

Just a FYI=Went to vermont recently with winter tires (blizzak lm60) and it did wonderful! Snowed 6 inches every night and it did fine!

You are right on par. I bought my 2007 CPO Alpine White 335i with Navi, Cold Weather, Logic 7, premium package with 34k miles.

Car itself was 29,900.
First two months paid by BMW Financial (almost 1k)
Maintenance package till 100k miles.
Total Out the door was 35k!
Pay under 500 bucks a month.

I paid $27,770* + tax, tag, title, and doc fees for my Jet Black/Terra 2007 335i Sedan with 6-speed manual, ZSP-Sport Package, ZPP-Premium Package, ZCW-Cold Weather Package, CA-Comfort Access, and 27,200 miles on the odometer. I had no trade-in, and I took advantage of the special 0.9% financing. The car’s in-service date was 22 Nov 06, so I have 11 months of free maintenance and 35 months of warranty remaining. I purchased the car on 31 Dec 09.

* : Price after first two payments by BMW. The sale price was $29k.

Yeah, I'm very happy with that price.

My friendly SA (at the dealership I take my M3 to) said the trade-in value on the 335i Sedan I bought was $23k-$24k, and that the selling dealership probably had $27k in it "tops". He said the reason I got the car for $29k was because "most new car dealers will do anything to sell a car by the end of the year". He thinks I got a great deal too.

dang and I thought I got a decent deal...at $33k

two weeks ago I picked up a 2007 335i E90 Titanium Silver with Premium and Sport packages, heated seats, Sirius, new tires all around, Logic7, etc. In service date was March 2007.....so I have until March 2011 for original 4yr50k mile full service and warranty before the extended warranty up to 100,000 miles takes over.

It was one owner car, actually a salesman there leased it...garage kept, dealer maintained.....20k miles when he turned it back in for a new 2010 model. I did not do the 48mos finance so got 2.9 instead of 0.9 interest but BMW still picked up the first two payments for me and also I got them to throw in the road hazard warranty with no deductible for tires and wheels.

Your car's low mileage combined with a CPO warranty that extends out to March 2014 definitely adds value...

I think so....i messed up on my math...inservice date was March 2007...it was a September 2006 build. Other info is same though with warranty coverage and low miles...

I love the car and SOOO much more agile and responsive than the 328i and especially my old 2002 Tii Maybe in couple years can get wife a new one and keep this one for myself as my daily driver and park my old Land Cruiser finally...haha

I bought my CPO E90 335i in the beginning of December for $28100 ($29900 minus $1800 (first two months payments)) with the 0.9% finance deal. It's alpine white with Sport and cold weather packages, leather, Nav, logic7, satellite, auto w/ paddle shifters and active steering.

In service was June 2007 and it had 36k miles.

I traded in an 2001 Audi S4 6MT GIAC chipped with 150k miles on it. Compared to the S4 the BMW has a little more low-end power, better suspension, and feels a lot more refined in everyday driving. The top-end power might be a little lower in the BMW, but how often do you really drive with the tach between 6 and 7k? Not very often for me.

I love the 335i but I miss not having auto dimming mirrors (my 335i did not have the premium pkg, leather was ordered as a separate option) I'm getting use to the auto transmission. The paddle shifters are a lot of fun, I like being able to downshift on a whim with the flick of a finger as I approach stops or when I want to maintain constant speed going down steep hills.

I'm disappointed in the mpg around town. My Audi S4 got 24-25 mpg on my daily commute (stop and go and back roads) compared to 19-20 for the BMW. I guess its difference between manual and auto transmissions. But on the highway, the Audi would get 26-28 and the BMW gets 28-30, so that's good.

I like the active steering.

Sounds like a good deal. How many miles?

I wish mine had comfort access and ipod.

How do you like the active steering, I like it.
