Interesting. I use MYINFO a few times a month and never have a problem. The only times it has not worked is when I sent multiple addresses at once. But, even that problem seems to have resolved itself.

The BMW SEARCH which connects to the internet in the car and allows you to initiate your address search from the car requires the upgraded CONVENIENCE PLAN ($199/yr) be added to BMW ASSIST. Mike |

send address via google MY 2009 E93
I went to 2 dealers to fix that problem, the first one said that my car doesn't have that option which is obviousy B.S
the next after a few hours found out that when I send a destination via google to my cars it goes under messages in the Telephone menu, not the BMW Assist menu at least its working so for you out there who cant find it try the messages in telephone menu, It should be there |

BMW may have recognized the problem
I got this msg from my SA after complaining about google maps showing up on a random basis for several months.
On March 27th 2009 BMW NA announced issues with the optional BMW Assist Convenience Plan. BMW hopes to have these problems resolved soon and will issue an update then. This was an aftersales development notice. Does anyone know the details of this "Aftersales Development Notice"? |

The problem with the convenience plan is unrelated. Some drivers have been having trouble getting the Google search WITHIN car feature to work, even though they paid for the convenience plan and should have access.
To those of you have trouble, how is the AT&T signal in your neck of the woods? I ask because the 2009 BMWAssist is (unlike the earlier Verizon CDMA units) dependent on a GSM receiver in the car.

Has been working great ever since I tried putting in my email in all CAPS. AT&T signal is good around here (I have it for my cell phones as well).

I've never done it in caps, and it has always worked for me.

Signal Appears to be the Issue
I did some experiments this week. My car seems to get the address from Google when it is parked in a specific location and not in another. Apparently, my house must be blocking the cell signal. Funny, though, my iPhone gets a signal in both places.
Does anyone know if there is an iDrive menu that shows what the BMW Assist signal is?

No issues with me either, once I figured out where the messages went (I probably should read the manual).
The BMW Assist woman did say that the user ID that you use in google maps is case sensitive though. |
