Well, the car is going into Kelly on the 2nd, then into Best Motor Werks on the 6th. Time to get some fun stuff done!

Need to have an oil change at Kelly and get them to double check some issues I've been having. Then I'm getting the intake walnut blasted, having a 40 gallon fuel cell installed, some electronics work done, custom turbo back exhaust. At some point it's going to TC Kline to have their dual adjustable suspension done.

Nice! And John Best is going the fuel cell? What are your plans for the car? Electronic work like coding?

Have you checked out Tom Hatem?

I'm going to talk to them about the fuel cell. I have an idea of what I want, I just need to sit down with the guys over there and see if they want to handle all the work of doing the fuel cell and the other stuff.

The electronics work I need to have done is a two-parter. I need to have some cut-off switches installed for certain lights on the car. I also need a car audio guy to handle some other installs.

Spring certainly took long enough to get here. Finally decided I'd had enough waiting and put on my new wheels and summer tires. Also got the windows tinted a few weeks back. I am ready for summer!

Before:

After:

I went with 19 inch VMR VB3's with Hankook Ventus V12 tires. Loving the look of it so far.

Thanks, I appreciate it. The pot holes aren't terrible here but I certainly drove to work this morning much more carefully!

Well, I brought the car to Kelly and had the oil changed. Drove the car home and it stayed parked for the weekend until I brought it to Best for the carbon cleaning on Monday. When I went pick the car up on Tuesday, the tech and I drove the car a bit and the misfire is still occurring as well as a stumble on roll-in. I left Best Motor Werks and drove the car straight to Kelly again.

Kelly started doing some tests on the car to figure out what the hell is going on. Everything looked good; leak down was fine, pressure test was fine, they even put a borescope in each cylinder to verify that the valves were opening and closing properly. Then they pulled the oil filter out the car and there it was... copper flakes in the oil.

Kelly is now in the process of pulling the engine out of the car and replacing it.

I always make sure I let my car warm up before driving it. I know how hard it is on bearings to drive the car while cold, but the car only has 70k miles on it. I didn't think the bearings would die so soon...

No need to let it warm up with modern motors and oils. The cars ecu takes care of boost when cold (when stock). N54's do have occasional rod issues lately.

Leaky injectors also gas wash the bearings and then the motor is a time bomb.

My car is having a random 5/4 misfire and I've come down to injectors or walnut blasting as they are all new coil packs and new spark plugs. Car has a bit of a hesitation when cruising that most likely I can only feel but lately it has gotten worse. Hopefully it is not something like this

They only have 30k-ish miles on the current ones. I guess that is normal life on these now a days? I may take the e85 tune off for now and see if it will run better on straight 93.

David, or anyone else for that matter, do you know of any good paintless dent removal places here in Columbus. I went out downtown this weekend for the first time in ever and some jackass put a dollar coin sized dent in my car on the rear quarter panel right above the side skirt. Hoping the Hilton/Covention center parking garage has cameras

Pretty reasonable on pricing? I've never done PDR so I'm not sure what to expect. I had my old BMW for 5 years with maybe one door ding the whole time I owned the car. This new one, that cost me 4 times as much, and I havent even had a full two years, has gotten at least 5 that I need to get taken care of. I don't get it. People are jackasses
