SC. I thought NY seemed more practical given my proximity to both locations, but I'm not the one considering the monetary aspects of BMW's affairs. Ahhh...what's a few extra days added to my wait?

There's only one way to be sure ... Quick someone, give them a call!!!....or Fax or Email TELEX ... whichever works. Tell them, there's a nice $20 bill if they get here in 5 days ...
One of these INMARSAT numbers should work.... edit: its the second listing ... D J is registered in Sweden To contact an Inmarsat terminal by phone, fax or telex, you need to dial: the international dialling code + Inmarsat satellite code + Inmarsat mobile number

Damn, I missed the boat. According to OC, my car has been produced but awaiting transport. Anybody have any idea how long before they a stock a new ship and set sail???
It also looks like the Don Juan crashed into the Lyndhurst?? HA! God I hope not

gdnyc: Are you sure you missed the boat. OC and the 1-800# are notoriously slooowww to update/reflect the latest information. You should contact your CA for the latest/detailed information. Ask for a print screen off his DCS for full shipping details.
If you did miss the Don Juan, check out Bremerhaven's schedule: http://www.dbh.de/index.php?id=151 ... just punch in your port and range of dates, vessel is auto/vehicle carrier ... it'll pull up the schedule so you can anticipate which vessel your car might catch. Good luck...

Are we anxious or what? ;)
Ok...figured I'd waste some of my energy wondering why our tug is stuck in Southampton, and find some tidbits...
I'm guessing, based on the AISLive info, and map below, that our tug is docked in either berths #38 or #39 of the Test Pier. Here's my tidbit offering: "In 1966, Queen Elizabeth opened a new passenger and cargo terminal at Berths 38 and 39 and it was soon named after her." How about that? A famous dock for our little tug to enjoy while we grow ever increasingly curious about her status! Maybe the DJ has a flat tire, and there isn't a runflat in stock anywhere nearby! Fletch!

fletcher969: great stuff ... I am finding it hard to keep up with you ...
This has got to be one of the most colorful/detailed "waiting on a vessel" thread ever ... :rocks: Let's try to keep it up

It gets curious and curiouser ... the D J's earlier position at Berth 35 (the other side of the quay is the designated berth for car carriers. The even have a huge multi-storey parking structure to hold cars prior to loading.
The D J's current position i.e. berth 38/39 is the official Passenger terminal for the QE2. Whats our specialized auto cargo carrier doing in a passenger terminal??? Berth 38/39 QE2 Passenger Terminal
