Nice. You don't see these at the track oftenly. I was told the handling was a bit delicate due to the short wheelbase?

I think he was referring to full-blown race cars. There wasn't a single one at the 12 hour Devil in the Dark (44 cars entered).

These cars can be nervous if they're too stuffly sprung. We're running the TC Kline Coil-overs with 400# springs front and rear.

Thanks! Should have it wrapped up in the next couple weeks. We're doing the Mid-Ohio 4 hour Endurance race the end of May. It's part of the BMWCCA enduranc series. The race after that is NJMP in August. I may do the sprint races on Saturday and Sunday at NJMP that same weekend.
Then it's another 4 hour race at The Glen in October and possibly finish out the season in December at either Daytona or Sebring.

Couple more shots from yesterdays time attack event

The addition of a fixed back seat and harness made a world of difference.

It's mostly a wrap, except the roof and the rear hatch, they're just black paint.

We used the Bimmerworks 335 for the DITD 12 hour. We had to stop at dark due to of all things, lighting failure! Ugh! No time to install other lights so we had to take a DNF at 8:30pm. We could have had a top 10, maybe top 5 finish.
I drove for almost 4 hours total. Our third driver was in the car a little over an hour and he felt sick so he got out of the car. He thought that he hydrated enough, but it was clear he was dehydrated, so he was finished for the day. It was only 60 some degrees out, but I was completely soaked under my driving suite. I did feel pretty good. I would have ended up driving about 6 hours total if we could have finished the race.

Great looking car!

Don't you get a lot of understeer without a front diffusor and the huge rear wing?

Track was fairly small and the speeds aren't high enough for the wing to really be doing much; I stayed in 2nd gear for almost the entire track.
I'll be heading to Mission then the Ridge soon and will have a proper front splitter for those.

Ah, got it. A buddy of mine has a world-challenge e90 325 and I blew by him with my street car when he had the rear wing on without the front splitter. He took the rear wing off and blew by me in the next session! He had no front grip due to the rear wing pulling the front wheels off the ground. Once he added the front splitter, it made a world of difference.
Nice car!

What engine does this 335 use? N54? How's it hold up to endurance events?

The 335 had about 8,000 miles on it with about 99% of them from track. No real issues at all with the engine. Stock clutch and flywheel just replaced late last year and an O2 sensor broke out of its bung. Other than that, no issues. Still running the stock turbos too.

Is it running stock power? Any upgraded oil/radiator? Etc. Just wondering about the setup. Thanks for any info.

Just a Dinan Tune and all the Dinan coolers (Bimmerworks is a Dinan dealership). Plus a diff cooler. Thing has been dead reliable and quick too.
