Lease up soon.

My lease is up in September. When is the best time to place an order for another car?

How does the whole returning the lease process work? Anything I should know? Do I return my lease when the new car comes in?

Thanks.

I ordered my new e92 about 3 weeks before my lease on my e90 was up. If you went through BMW financial and you order another BMW, they just extend your lease until the car you ordered arrives. When my new e92 arrived i simply handed the dealership the keys to my previous car and drove off in my new one!

Make sure you leave 6-8 weeks for your car to arrive. My lease on the Audi is up this month, and I just took delivery of my bmw yesterday. Mine took about 5 1/2 weeks to be delivered.

The lease assessor will come to inspect your car, and then give you a report you have to bring to the dealer when you turn in your lease. Then you also have to get plates cancelled. Usually the dealer, or your car insurance agency can do this.

Just make sure the old one is payed off, and you can return it any time. For example, I still have my Audi, and plan on returning it this week.

Is it better to go back to your original dealer?

i think you'd have more bargaining power going back to your original dealer, no?
