2AAE (FUEL PUMP) - TunerPRO I8AOS XDF Update

Long story short... My stock pump had 80k and with e40 it was dropping into the 40 psi range on pulls. Rather than just putting my FFTEC inline pump back in my car, I bought a new bucket. While installing the new bucket, I also installed the inline booster. This is when I started getting the 2AAE code for fuel pump. Unfortunately there is not a lot of information regarding the 2AAE. My LPFP pressure is now consistently at 80 psi. I don't see this as a major issue or concern, so I'm coding it out.

Any sense of why it started to throw the fuel pump code when you swapped in a new bucket + FFTEC/Vishnu LPFP? Just the DME confused at what it's seeing? I'll be doing the exact same installation as my stock LPFP is probably getting tired.

Only thing I can see in my logs regarding LPFP is the pressure could be too high. I didn't have this issue with my old pump and the inline. Shiv and Terry both are like... ....

Seems to me I recall that when the LPFP sensor craps out the fuel pressure pegs itself at max.

Could that be the case here?

Guess the only way to find out is to replace it. But doesn't that cause and issue with reading the actual fuel pressure from the LPFP side when it fails?

Someone was throwing a code because their pressure was high. He did something to bring it down and it went away. Forget where the thread was

When my sensor crapped out the fuel pressure read as 72 psi or close to that.

I think its a safety protocol so there is still adequate fuel delivery.

Perhaps because of the extra current draw?

I'm telling ya that's why Ken. I've read a few other threads who got codes after having your setup. But no issues.

Yea my car is running great. Not sure how to get rid of the code while running a stack. A minor nuisance to see it when doing a check control but thats about it.

What changed? I ran this pump before and didn't have any issue. although it was with my old pump. Are the new pumps running more current?

Sorry, I must've misunderstood you. I thought you were going from factory pump to a new factory pump plus the inline. Thus, thinking of the additional load from the extra pump. Which could be avoided anyways by wiring the additional pump directly to the battery plus a relay from ignition.

Yeah, just a little OCD about shit like this. Would be nice to know for sure, but I already just zapped it from my bin with my updated XDF file.

If anyone wants a copy of my I8AOS.XDF let me know. I consolidated everything and added a few of my own options.

I've thought about doing that, but I didn't have any issues when I first installed it last November. I took it out after shift sector in April and just started playing again after getting my new turbos. Noticed in my logs that my LPFP was dropping into the 40's... So I figured it was a good time to pick up a new bucket rather than popping the boosting back in with an old tired pump anyway.

What are you using to log fuel pressure?

BT cable. I can also setup custom PIDs with TorquePRO. Just haven't got around to adding them. Finding the time to play is getting harder and harder.

Just got the LPFP inline installed and the 2AAE popped up.
Disabled it in OFT and flashed several times but the car still pops the fuel pump error on the screen.
INPA says that the only codes are the 2AAE, 2AAF and the 2FCA/2FDA in history.
Also pulled the battery cable for over 7 hours.
Any ideas?

I'm getting the 2AAF after my inline install as well. With the way my lpfs reads I am guessing this is a plausibility high fault as opposed to the low fault that most people worry about. Plausibility monitors usually have a high and a low check put only throw 1 fault code for both of them (I work in OBD for diesel trucks). This is my only guess.
