I guess going with JB1 was a good idea for me... these headaches are just not worth the extra 20HPs... I am not a drag junkie anyway.

+ 1 or you could have took it to a local mechanic shop that works on bmw's and could have checked whats wrong with the car atleast you can tell them what you did and they can start from there.

Note to self: Never ask electrical mod questions on this forum! Damn, you guys are blowing this all out of proportion. If I were the OP I would be freaking out right now...but I think that may have been your intentions.
OP, dont worry about it so much. I took my car in with an O2 sensor issue and Ive got LOTS of mods on my car...and the fixed it without question. So, wait till they call you and you can always refuse the work. If the car was driveable, then you should be able to pick it up and do some simple diagnosing. It it is a wire, then just fix it yourself! |

What problem did you take the car in for? If they're hunting an issue not related to why you took it in and believe it is something you did just tell them to finish what they're supposed to do and not pursue the other.
Again, BMW either accepts or denies warranty claims for the issue being diagnosed based on their findings. This may include making comments in your service file that may help them in future diagnoses (like customer has altered/removed emission std equipment - DPs) . There is no such thing as "voiding the warranty" except in extreme cases where a customer has repeatedly abused the process.

Don't wanna start a new thread so I'm just gonna ask here. Is JB2 traceable? if you take it out and put everything back like before would BMW be able to detect that there was a chip there?

...just be careful not to over tighten any screws that go into plastic. the plastic will just crack and that is leaving clues. ...if you unfortunately leave little clues, be sure to have a reasonable excuse(s). my 2 cnets
