Left rear middle light i.e. night light stopped working
Have a 2008 E93 and the middle portion of the left rear lights don't work. The left indicator light works and the brake light works but the regular night light doesn't work.
I thought the bulb was out - so I replaced the entire bulb module - this was part number 63217178383 (https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...t/63217178383/) It still doesn't work though i.e. the top 2 lights and the bottom lights work, but the bulb in the middle doesn't light up. Not sure what else I should test to find out where the problem is. Any help appreciated! Thanks! |

I would reset the frm counters first. The frm may have cut power off to that bulb.

Thanks for the quick response. How can I do that? Can I do it with the foxwell nt510? A little bit of googling suggested a kdcan cable etc. etc. Would you know of a video describing this? Thanks!

If the NT510 is BMW specific, maybe you can.
Otherwise, you can use a bmw software on your laptop or use the protools app. You need to purchase the license to be able to use protools and the kdcan cable with otg adapter. A video I made about the app, it describes the app and shows how to use it, I’d watch it if you’re getting the app. Watch min 20:15 to min 20:41, I go over the frm circuits reset. |

Serf27 I read all the counters using frm70 and the Toolset32 and they are all 0.
I reset a bunch of them (including the two left taillights) that I thought might be the right lamps anyway. It said DONE. Still, the light wont start |

Are you able to check for lower/voltage at the connector itself?
The light modules should also be interchangeable from one side to another. Try swapping them and see if they work/don’t.

The light module is new, so I suspect there might not be a problem there. Is there a way to find out which pins are for the tail-lights?

New parts are sometimes defective. Possible the new module may have fallen in transit and the bulb on it broke?
I’m not sure which wires carry the power. You can check on the other side of the car to see which wires have power and Compare to the other side.
