Flaps

Not meat ones, you can all calm down....

The recent liberal covering of salt and water on the roads has highlighted to me just how bad my E91 is at chucking up spray. Watching the amount of spray it chucks up in the rear view mirror while on the motorway it seemed considerably worse than other vehicles around me.

Even a short journey at low speed results in the tail of the car being completely covered in filth and I'm getting fed up of constantly having to clean it/have my rear wiper on.

So I want to know if anyone else has fitted mudflaps to their E91 and whether they made a difference. Also, a quick scan of the BMW site turned up a set but it suggests they aren't compatable with the M sport bumpers... Anyone know different?

Cheers.

Mudflaps are not the answer. Its the shape of the car. Estates, hatchbacks, vans etc. Its the stalling airflow at the rear of the car depositing the shite. Saloons and Coupes have fast moving air over the rear window so no need of rear wiper. However their rear bumpers and lights still get as dirty as a E91.

Have you got big or small flaps?

So it doesn't matter how big or small your flaps are? If the shape of your behind ain't right, you will get a dirty behind?

I know the touring shape sucks it up and circles it on to the rear of the car but if there is lss being thrown up (courtesy of the flaps) surely it should be better? Not looking for a cure- just damage limitation.

I knew this post would degenerate!

WTF ????!!!!!!

Red rag to a bull...

I'm currently sitting in a hotel lobby, and I'm laughing so hard I'm crying, and everyone's looking at me wondering what's going on... shall I show them???

By the way, I love this forum - where else can a pseudo-innocent question about mudflaps degenerate into this ???!!!!!!! Will, you're a GENIUS... very very sick, but still a genius
