First Mods - 2007 335i

Hey guys, I've had my 335i since October 2011 but haven't been able to drive it for the last 4 months since I'm abroad, but once I get back I'd like to do some modifications on it. Right now, my car is bone stock with the exception of the golf tee mod.

What should my first mods be? I'm planning on getting ECU tune once I'm back. I know that the topic's been debated to death but any quick input on which flash everyone prefers for the N54 would be really helpful.

My next step would to be DCIs. I've read that it doesn't matter which brand I go as they're almost identical. Cause of that, I think I'm going to go BMS but I'm a little confused on whether to go single cone or dual cone. Also, is the cp-e dual cone intake any different from their original? Or is it purely cosmetics?

What should my next mods be after that? Tires? Meth? DPs?

Thanks!

I would get a tune, dci, and downpipe.

All of the tunes are good, but I would get the JB4/DCI as a package, and VRSF downpipes.

(PS next time post in n54 section)

Ok I'll play along. Yes- a tune is the first mod everyone should do. These motors were de-tuned at the factory, the reasons for which have been debated at length. Didn't want to compete too closely with the m3, gas mileage requirements, not wanting to include an LSD ...

But I believe the stock intercooler is matched to the stock performance of the N54 and would have been more robust if BMW had released the N54 at full power. Once you tune it you need (not NEED really but it is a good idea) to upgrade the intercooler along with your tune or soon thereafter. The Helix FMIC is generally thought to be the best in the business.

Tune- I would say JB4 for best bang for your buck. The other popular tunes are great too but more expensive.

Hah, thanks for taking your time to answer! I'll definitely look into an intercooler once I start modding.
