installed bmw pe

i was wondering how long they usually take to break in will it start popping soon when down shifting from 3rd to second.

Also how much should a secondary cat delete cost me? are there any diy guides on the 328xi e92.

couple of hundred miles should be set, popping depends on N51 or N52 and air temp. N51 only pop a lil even on a hot day, N52 will pop much louder.

both pop pretty loud with secondary removed, delete should cost around $100 by muffler shop, best way to do this is use mid pip from AFe.

any cheaper options for a mid pipe 400$ is a little steep for me.

Just some advice. If you think you will ever consider headers, do NOT delete the secondary cats.
Leave them in place so that when you get headers, the exhaust will not be obnoxiously loud or terribly smelly.

Congrats and enjoy the pleasant sounds of your car!

it shouldnt. If you really want pops and gurgles, take out the secondary cats.

Wow I paid $250 or so for it. Prices have gone up a lot. Just checked Amazon and it's under $300 shipped. Probably the best option since it bolts right up and it's easily reversible. If it's in stock, I'd go for it. I remember, when I got it members were having a lot of trouble getting it since it wasn't in stock with long wait times for it.

i like my bmw don't get me wrong, but if you are my age and you grew up with v8 engines that really sounded great you have to laugh when you hear these little piss pot engines trying to make exhaust sound - sure they may be loud but it sounds so hollow and not very powerful. i am sure its a generational thing.

Already been done and discussed. It's about $250 to get it done.

Damn, those AFE pipes have gotten expensive. I paid $250 for mine from Amazon a year ago.
