235/35/18

just wondering if anyone is running this size up front? Sears has continental dw's on sale for $95 in that size. Seems a little short on the sidewall and im not looking to damage my new wheels but $95 is a really good price.
Thanks,

I am running 235/40/18 up front... the 35 may be a little short. I guess in OK, your roads are probably much better than in MA.

235/40/18's list an 8" wheel as the minimum recommended width, so a 35 would probably be minimum of 8.5". Tirerack didn't show a 235/35/18 size... maybe no longer made?

It may work, but it is probably not "recommended".

The more important question is, what size tires are you using in the rear?

Thanks for the feedback, for the price i think i should go for it. The rears are 255/35/18 i bought some bridgestone rft's on craigslist nearly new for $250. the toyota dealer had a rough time mounting the 225/40 on my 8.5" wheel. they said they will not mount tires like that anymore. I think they were a little to low profile for their taste lol.

It's too short for the car in my opinion, but it's your call.

Are you thinking of mixing runflats in the rear with non-runflats up front? Mixing runflats with normal tires is generally regarded as a bad idea.

Why is that? I consider it a 50% greater win over non rft's. Not to sound like an @ss of course just wondering.

Opinion valued, I think I will go with the 235/40's even if it costs $100 more. Thanks again for the replys.

+1

Avoid mixing run flat and non run flat tires due to unstable handling, especially when cornering or at highway speeds.
