Am doing so - a lot of the ads give e46 space savers and say they are suitable for other models...just want some verification from the forum experts as to whether or not this is true...

I am in the process of changing runflats to normal ones. Looking for a space saver. Any recommendations where to look and would any e46 or 5 series space saver fit my e92 as well?

Rather than start a new thread on this, would it be possible to use one of my 16" winter wheels with tyre as a spare for my 19" wheels when I ditch my run flats?

The 16" is 205 55 16 and the 19" will be either 235 35 19 or 265 30 19, I checked the calculator on here and the difference is minimal, plus It would only be in emergencies anyway as I will have a compressor and gunge.

Has anyone done this?

You can purchase a brand new spare wheel kit complete with jack/cover etc from Cotswold BMW for £310 as ordered one myself yesterday.
These have been on back order for a while & numbers are limited

Shit that's a lot of money for a spare, I'm not sure non run flats are the best way to go. The thought of carrying a spare in the boot doesn't thrill me to be honest.

Agree £320 is a lot of money, but what you don't know is that I have 2 family members with E90 BM's which this wheel will fit(checked first) This is not a lot of money if you have a flat with nowhere to go so a no brainer really.
Secondly changed to non RFT as I wanted 225 wheels & combo of 225's with RFT does not go as I didn't want cracked wheels. Ride much smoother & car handles much better

Fair points Les. I've only just got my car which has run flats on the rear and standard tyres on the front. The thing for me is I don't think the tyre jizz works all that well and I dont want my boot compromised with a space saver, if there was room under the floor for one I'd go that way 100% and be happy to pay the £320, as that's not going to happen then I'm going to change the fronts to run flats as soon as I can.

Guys - I have ordered an e46 16 space saver which I am told will be fine as a spare. You can get one for about £50 from eBay.

I think for the 330 above, you need to get a 17 to clear the bigger brakes...

In terms of the switch to runflats - BEST THING I EVER DID!! Seriously, the ride is so much smoother (I went for Michelin PS2s). Infact, i am also going to do the same with my 1 series!

I've gone for tyre-weld and foot pump.
I have just changed to Michelin Pilot Sport PS3s. The ride is transformed. Such direct feeling through the wheel and I also spotted that the treadwear rating on the runflat PS2 was a lot less than the non-runflat PS3 with PS3 being 330 - therfore tyre should last longer in theory.

RFT on the rear n non-RFT on the front, please say That isn't a BMW dealer you've got the car from? Also is that actually safe?

I currently have the PS3s all round on mine. Previously I have Contis.

Must admit the ride is really nice on the Michelin but you do pay for it in the corners with the turn in being a lot softer than the Contis.

National Tyres have an agreement with Holts (who make Tyre Weld) and WILL repair a puncture in a tyre that has had Tyre Weld used on it (assuming it can be safely fixed of course)
