The back end of my car is absolutely fine (discounting the damage done today). Don't you think that if any damage had been done to my car before either I, one of my family, one of my friends or someone at the Bentley Drivers Club meet (which there were plenty looking round my car) would have noticed it and pointed it out, no takes someone with a computer and a photo to notice "damage" on my car .

What you on about you seem to have a complex it's all there in colour (not even black&white) in the picture.

Irnbrukid...wind your neck in pal. I agree that the photo you have highlighted looks like there may be some damage to the car, but there again shadow and light come into play. I am the first to admit that Porscha's love of all things retro can fire me up and cause me to post comments in defence of modern cars, but why the hell would she lie to us?

I have met Nic on NM2 and she's a straight up person with a real enthusiasm for her passion for old motors. I think that she is fully justified in feeling put out about what appears to be nothing more than a malicious and petty minded post. You seem to be suggesting that she is deliberately seeking attention and lying about the damage done to her car and then you find 'evidence' by posting her original pics on here. Why? What is your point??? Seriously...why?

I have been guilty of calling the post in the past on Nic, (justified at times I feel...sorry Nic), and still find her comments about 'Toy Brigade' cars annoying......but I really feel that you have put the boot in unnecessarily and in a manner that does not befit this forum. Never thought I would be defending the Porscha, but you are coming across really badly on here as far as I'm concerned and it doesn't look pleasant.

As an aside I considered a 968 Clubsport a few years back (really wished I'd bought it while I had the chance!) was that an evolution of the 944 or a completely different car?

Foxy - Evolution of the 944, which is an evolution of the 924 (the car which gets a lot of stick!!) front engined Porsches are absolutely brilliant cars, no they don't have the outright speed of a newer Porsche, hell they don't have the outright speed of some hot hatches! But thats not what they are all about get one on a B-Road and you'll see 968CS is what the ex owner of my '44 is going for when he comes back off the canals

Wind my neck in eh! dont think so mate... I just asked a simple question on why it 'looked' as if the car was already damaged previous to her posting today about it, afterall the other pic (i reposted) was taken before this came up was it not.
And it has nothing to do about it being a retro car as you say she likes to ramble on about them and that is her thing/perogative i like old cars whats not to like.

Also i never once said she was a liar so i dont know where you get that from my point was simply from looking at that pic it looks as if the car was damaged previously.

2. the car is not damaged, why would I buy a damaged car when I've been looking for another 944 for over a year? (this is not counting what happened yesterday.)

If anyone needs to wind their neck in it is you, why on earth would I post something like this if the car already had that dent and cracking to the bumper? Really, come on tell me, if you aren't calling me a liar what are you trying to say?

1. How is the (what looks like) damage in another area its in the same rear corner of the bumper that the new damage is on just below it.

2. People buy older cars with some cosmetic or other faults on them as they are an easy fix, and the price reflects it.

All im saying is that by the 'pictures' you posted the other day that it 'looks' as if the car had some damage...

As someone who know a little bit about how car shapes reflect the environment - you can say NOTHING from that photograph you highlight. Two identical objects will "appear" to have different surfaces when reflecting differing environments : road side (Smooth regular road texture) and kerb side (more irregular shapes, geometry and textures to reflect). Direction of sun also adds shadows (and reflected shadows) into the equation.

Spending many posts tenaciously persuing this, when the thread is about Nicola's misfortune makes you seem more and more petty.

Oh thanks so your saying I bought the car just because it was cheap, now I will admit I got the car a lot cheaper than I was willing to pay but that auctions for you. I actually put a bid in of £1000 more than I paid for the car and was worried I wasn't going to get it for that.

So I lie about something that happened in a car park AND buy damaged cars because they are cheap then say that they are in wonderful condition.

I DO NOT appreciate being not only called a liar but some kind of cheap skate, now my cars might not be worth much to you but they are to me, I don't have vast amounts of money to go spending on cars or anything else for that matter, so something like this is a big deal for me as it's going to cost me money to put right when it shouldn't.

Ah that pic clears it up a bit so the rear diffuser was hanging down/off so that made the light reflect of it in a different way.

And did i say you personally bought this car for a said reason (being cheap) no , so i dont understand where you get this idea from.

Also for calling you a cheap skate your just making things up come on now thats taking it a bit far.

To put it straight i never once said that your car wasnt bummped / run into yesterday, what i said was that it looked from your pictures the other day as if the rear diffuser was damaged or something wasnt right, which has now been shown with your latest pic it is hanging down.

As you said any car has a value to the owner however much it costs, and there is nothing worse than someone to hit it and drive off, it has happened to me in the past more than once and i do genuinely feel sorry for you.

Ah, see what you were looking at now, the rear valances on these all look like that, thats how they are fitted then you have another type of surface just above, then the smooth paintwork above that. It works in real life but can see how it could easily look damaged in pictures!!! If you don't know about 944s and their kits you wouldn't know and as this is not a 944 forum I wouldn't expect you to.

Anyway onto better news getting a quote Monday morning, hopefully this time next week car will be perfect, gives me the opportunity to go round the car with a find tooth comb and get any other bits done (chips I haven't noticed etc.)!!

As Nicola stated, the bodyschutz undercoat is applied with a horizontal line, while the lower valance has a sloping edge. It was like that when it left the factory.

I have one if these parked/stored in my Tiefgarage.
