As I have recently chosen to find out the above (for research purposes of course ), I have checked the suspension components on my car, and they are fine.

It's a shame that Mikey is taking all the flak here, and the responsibility.

I personally think some others should show some respect for the forum members and step up and take some responsibility, that is of course if they think they have some responsibility, mistakes happen!
+1

As forum sponsors I think they have a level of responsibilty to step up to, and should make be here helping a customer of theirs out.

Its Sunday evening and I have just been notified of this thread by a personal message on Facebook about this thread.

In all likelyhood we think the damage was caused to Milkey's car not because of normal use of the dyno but because I personally did not unstrap the car before attempting to take it off the dyno.

Sal was not aware of this incident as he was not at work that day. In fact I had forgotten about it until I spoke to Mikey when we were talking about the possibilities of what could have been the cause.

We agreed with Mikey to cover any costs he had related to this and he accepted. I didn't think this would cause such a stir. We made a mistake and agreed with our customer that we would cover any loss he had. He is coming back to us to have more work done to his car so we believe we handled our issue with our customer to the best of our ability.

I would be confident in saying have evolve have dyno'd more E9X than anyone in the UK, with a lot of forum members having their car on our dyno. This issue has never arisen before - it only occurred in this instance because of a human error on my part and the car was not unstrapped properly before being taken off the dyno.

I hope this can bring a close to this and Mikey can visit the forum in peace.

Enjoy the rest of your weekends!

Well that opens a can of worms then doesn't it?

Professionalism starts with being honest from the start. A bit late but well done for standing up and being counted.

So why the huge attempt at a cover up if the explanation is/was so simple?

Fair enough though...

What part of 'I have only just been notified of this thread' wasn't crystal clear?

Imran has been up front and honest with Mikey - and with us as soon as he heard about this with us too.

Just to put your mind, and everyone's mind at that, at ease -

1) We do not strap cars down hard at all, we use the front chocks to control how far forward the car moves
2) We do not strap at the rear trailing arm, not a good place to choose!
3) We have dynoed more E9x's than probably anyone
4) G-Power 620+hp car was dynoed nearly 30 times on our dyno. No issues
So do you or don't you strap the rear arms?

Oh please... Really? You believe that.

It's only because of the speculation they decided to answer, with all having luck this thread wouldn't have happened, E92fan wouldn't have posted and that would have been that...

Would BMW come on here to defend everything we level at them true or not?

Does that make them fundamentally dishonest?

Now it is turning into a lynch mob - I won't stop going to evolve just because of one cock up.

Customer service to me is more about when a cock up occurs, how you fix it!!

So do you or don't you strap the rear arms?

It's just that I'm curious to how the damage was caused to the rear arm if say the front wheels were strapped?

This shouldn't be taken lightly - what a tangled web we weave when we try to deceive...

If the strap got caught there because they forgot to unstrap the car, that means they do actually use that point to strap, does it not?? Or am I missing something?

exactly. Sorry I hate it when people aren't transparent. Even worse when it is a profesional company that promotions its services here.

I'll agree with you there Matt, and respect to Imran for coming forward to put us in the picture as to what actually happened.

However it still begs the question as to why/how the strap damaged the trailing arm if as they state they do not use those components to strap the car down?

Is that an unreasonable question to ask?

Firstly, fair play to Imran for coming forth and being honest and upfront about a very simple example of human error.
More respect that Evolve were pro-active in their approach to fixing Mikey's car without any apparent fuss or manipulation of blame

Secondly, I don't think we've got quite to the stage of being a lynch mob yet The events that occurred do pose one or two other questions, which can be answered very simply without need for arguments, accusations, or any other sort of inflammatory posts. There is no sign of a combined attack on Evolve, nor do I believe that is the motivation of any forum member. There is a level of curiosity here now that has arisen from the ill-fated attempts at keeping this honest error quiet and I think the questions now being posed are quite justified

So if you are very observant you would also note my namesake near my avatar, however this does not mean I am not a respectable, honest person.

I am not digging it up for sake of being A FKR its for all those who have had Evolve maps...

If cars that have potentially been strapped down in this way do have issues and something more sinister happens then if you could sleep at night then that's fine. I guess.

I am not saying that Evolve are being dishonest about this particular incident, I am sure it did happen. BUT it does go against the grain when another Evolve employee states that it is not the companies policy or procedure to not strap cars in this way but yet here we are with reason to believe this to be untrue.

I'm just asking what many a forum member is asking/thinking...

No it is not unreasonable Ian.

If you read my post I said "the car was not unstrapped properly."

We do not use that arm to strap. We go up and over the control arm behind this one. The only explanation I have that is when I unhooked the hook and put it back over it caught on the one that was damaged. The car is prevented from moving forward by rubber chocks in front of the front wheels rather than the tension on the straps.

I can explain further with pictures tomorrow. I just wanted to respond now so people didn't think I was formulating a response.

Any other responses will now be made tomorrow because I want to enjoy the rest of my time off with my son.
