Hi guys,

Recently I've been having problems with the 335i (n54). I normally have a BMW specialist mechanic to help with these matters but he isn't available for a while so I just went to a 'standard' mechanic (probably should have just waited in retrospect.)

Symptoms:
For a few days, car would have rough idle on start up, but would run fine once warm.

The day after that, it would have rough idle and run like crap for around 15 mins, but then run fine.

The day after that, assuming it would again run fine, the car choked and would not start. I could smell a lot of fuel. The car leaked a half a tank in mins.

Took the car to an ordinary mechanic, fuel was in the oil and a misfire was recorded as well as a fuel pressure problem.

Action taken:
Changed oil/spark plugs.
Changed fuel pump.
Changed a leaky injector.

The car ran fine for a day, then last night, I was giving it a bust (testing it to make sure it was fine) and the same thing happened. Car started to run like crap and I can again smell fuel.

I want to try fix this as soon as possible and will give it a crack myself, as otherwise I have to wait for another two weeks to have it looked at by the guy I want.
