Beauforty: Hey... I'm not going for sports suspension, and I've decided not to because of my current car (03 330ci Sport). It is great for the 10% of the time when you are hammering up the A5, or down some back road at night, but during the other 90% I just found the ride to stiff. I have also scraped it a few times badly going over speed bumps, and I'd just rather not have that worry!

That's a fair comment Spacer and your decision is based on experience! I agree the sports suspension is not for everyone. Looking forward to seeing pictures of your car in December - did you order Crimson Red because of Christmas??!!!

Lol.... I just fancied something a bit different with the Red, but it was a hard choice between Montego Blue and the Ref. And don't get me wrong, the sports suspension is awesome, but sadly my driving has changed alot since I got my current car and the suspension has now become more of a hinderance than a help. I just can't wait for the new car!

Mine gives me back ache after a while. Saying that though, I'm not as young as I used to be so that might play a part in it.

Chris... me too! My job helps me get a bad back, and in my E46 I can't drive for more than 2 or 3 hours without getting a sore back.

My E46 was a 320d ES with sports suspension and 16" wheels - a great combination.
I now have an E90 320dES with standard suspension set up, and apart from a little extra roll, the car still feels as planted on bends and when changing direction quickly.

ES-Jet: I reckoned it wouldn't make too much difference on road holding, just on looks. And thankfully, it sounds like I may be right!

A bit of good news: I've just spoken to the dealer, and the car should be in at the end of Nov, maybe even the week beginning 20th Nov!

I've finally got my car! But, although I have photos of it, I can't get on my broadband (I've just moved), so hopefully I will get photos up in the next few days. I'm pleased to say the CA works really well, and I can just about eek out a range of 650 miles from the tank! Not bad, considering I was getting 330 out of my 330! Hope all's well with everyone.

Congtrats! I saw on your previous post you took pics of your old car before the new one arrived - I actually have just done the same with the Z4 before the new coupe arrives... two weeks tomorrow I collect her (18th Dec).
Interesting what you say about going from petrol to diesel... hope you enjoy it. Quote:

Cheers guys! I should get some photos up in the next week or two (come on Orange Broadband!). The car is awesome, but Chris, the good mileage was just about a whole tank just on the motorway. Since then, its been showing ~ 600 miles to the tank!

Congrats on the new "3" - mine defo won't be here now until the new year (dealer said a hold up on 335's?)
My current e46 330 ci sport susp is quite hard but I felt the E90 sport I test drove wasn't as bad? - oh well too late now - just have to go aftermarket coilovers if its unbearable!! Cheers Tim
