Ok, I've never done this type of racing and never raced my bimmer, so if I go out there and ruin the course by hitting most of the cones, will everybody hate me or is it still fine? I am not worried about embarrassing myself but just do not want to ruin everybody's party

autoX is one of the fun things you can do with a car, you are really competiting with yourself. The more you do it the better you get ... one thing that someone need for this is a ability to not take yourself too seriously

Okay guys, here's an update:
I chatted for a while with the main rent organizer, and it went really well. I filled out a short application form and Arnie (awesome guy), told me it would take a month or so to get a final decision from the Mantua Committee. Overall, he was impressed with the power point presentation I made (yes, I made a pp presentation for autox). Things are looking excellent at this point.

Right now, the tentative date is AUGUST 2, which is a Saturday.

The whole situation with law enforcement...he told me no worries. They apparently have a really tight relationship with the local police force, so Arnie told me they shouldn't bother us at all.

The restrooms will be open for the event, and we'll probably order some pizza as lunch.

As for the lot itself. I think it's awesome. Most of it is smooth, but there are a few slightly bumpy areas, nothing too bad. There are grass run offs on the bottom of the lot (reference to my initial picture), and a little run off on the right bottom area. The pits area is a lot bigger than I thought it would be, so that's great. Pre-grid has plenty of space as well.

There is an access road behind the Kena building, so you can get in and out without affecting the autox.

I filled out a short application form and Arnie (awesome guy), told me it would take a month or so to get a final decision from the Mantua Committee. Overall, he was impressed with the power point presentation I made (yes, I made a pp presentation for autox). Things are looking excellent at this point. Right now, the tentative date is AUGUST 2, which is a Saturday. The whole situation with law enforcement...he told me no worries. They apparently have a really tight relationship with the local police force, so Arnie told me they shouldn't bother us at all. The restrooms will be open for the event, and we'll probably order some pizza as lunch. As for the lot itself. I think it's awesome. Most of it is smooth, but there are a few slightly bumpy areas, nothing too bad. There are grass run offs on the bottom of the lot (reference to my initial picture), and a little run off on the right bottom area. The pits area is a lot bigger than I thought it would be, so that's great. Pre-grid has plenty of space as well. There is an access road behind the Kena building, so you can get in and out without affecting the autox. 1.
