European to North America Maps for 2017 X3

I bought a 2017 x3 in Germany (US specs) and it came with European maps. I’m now stationed back in US and need North American maps loaded. Sewell BMW in Dallas quoted me $350, which doesn’t seem bad at all, but this is 10 hours away from me. I’m closest to El Paso, but the BMW dealership their just quoted me $1,200, which isn’t cool at all. I’m now reading a lot of things that this can possibly be done by myself and save me a ton of money? Please advise me of what is reality and not, and how to handle this issue? Thank you

If you're not tech savvy and/or don't want to/can't setup a windows laptop to program it yourself, just take the easy route:
