E92 335I exhuast system help

Hi guys

Can anyone who has done any exhaust work remember if our systems are

Downpipes with cats --> Secondary Cats ---> central muffler---> rear Muffler ?

I've been thinking of looking to get some straight through pipe from second cats onwards but couldn't find any information regarding any drones or if the coupe has central muffler, some says only the saloon version has it and while looking at realoem i've found that my car has central muffler??

I have aftermarket muffler which sounds great from outside but i cant tell any difference from stock when i'm inside the car..only slightly deeper roar.

Thanks

to be honest i don't want to touch the cats hence i'm asking if there was any central muffler.

Does it make a big difference when you had it on?

and what price are you looking at?

e92/3 are a bit different to the e90/1, but nothing major.

Its a google image.

I have an E90 so mine is slightly different - I have Catless DPs and stock from there onwards.

My assumption is that the X thing is to mix the exhaust gases in the mid pipes, its not big enough to be a muffler. The link between the two rear boxes does the same and apparently helps to reduce drone.

I would add a pair of resonators to the catless mid pipes smoked is selling and away you go!

Another google image

Yoro,

Heres another photo from google. When I swapped out the oem for PE system on e91, it looked the same this, the midpipe resonator is at the top of the photo, oem fit for N54 E90/1.

Phils google picture is of a e92/3 system with x pipe in place of the above resonator.

Hope this helps.

Dave

Dave, so you've got a PE on your E91?

The extra mid section you have to buy for the E90/1, is that the X pipe which as standard on the E92/3?

That's seems why the PE on th E92/3 is much cheaper because you don't need to buy the new mid section..

E91 PE midpipe

Yes, with e90/1 you get a replacement mid pipe with x pipe in addition to the rear boxes. Hence the higher price as coupe/conv already have x- mid pipe.
